The difference is that the flutes are more pronounced and the drumbeat is louder at the very end of the theme, almost echos. 🏝🥥🛥🚣♂

I love the ghost episode! In season 1, the episode where they are building the community hut, Gilligan spills water on the Skipper. Skipper yells "That was my last dry shirt!" So I can believe that the Skipper and Gilligan kept extra clothes on the Minnow, it was their job as a tour boat, so if their clothes got wet or dirty they'd have clean sets for tours. The others, a mystery. Ginger's dress was ruined in first episode but totally fixed without even sewing seams afterwards!

One thing people don't think about is that the Minnow belonged to the Skipper and Gilligan. So them having clothes on the boat actually makes more sense than anyone else. They most likely lived on the boat in between tours. Everyone else having clothes would be a bit odd.

An excellent episode. One thing I always thought was kinda out of place in this episode is where Gilligan is setting at table telling the Skipper is how much he will miss everybody and he isn’t really anxious to leave. Then a couple of minutes later when the professor says he thinks they shouldn’t do it, Gilligan changes to being ready and says “come on everybody “ Course he could have had a quick change of heart. Just thought I’d throw that in there lol

Ok, questions. 1. What happened to the opening graveyard scene you created? Was this video not a part of your Halloween special? If not, why? 2. If the castaways all slept on cots or in hammocks, then where did the sheets come from? Blankets I get, water and wind can get chilly for some people on a 3 hour tour, but sheets? Regardless of all that, good video! Perfect example of how you stated the “cartoon” ideology that should be applied when watching this show. (Unlike my sheet question lol)

Even though it was just a three hour tour, maybe it was part of a larger tour package where they are picked up from the airport with their luggage, then taken straight to the tour with their luggage, then were only supposed to go to the hotel sometime after the boat tour. Gilligan and the Skipper may have just had extra clothes since the spent so much time on the boat anyway. Though it's still odd that the Skipper and Gilligan's spare clothes would all be the exact same shirts and pants.

All it would have taken is Keil negotiates with Mr. Howell...one million dollars in exchange for a boat that will get the Howells and their friends off the island and back to civilization. :) Everyone's happy: Kiel, the Russians, the Howells, the rest of the castaways.

You asked about the clothes on Gilligan's Island. Well I have to tell you that I used Gilligan's Island TV Show to align the color on our TV sets when I was a teenager. If you can recall back in those days color TV's used three ray guns to "paint" the picture on the fluorescent screen of the picture tube. These three primary colors were Red, Blue, and Green. What I would do is wait for a scene with Gilligan, Skipper, and the green plants to be showing then I'd fine tune the color adjusters on the back of the TV! It get it so the red was super red, the blue was super blue, and the green was bright green. Of course all the other colors would be made from these three so now our color TV screen would "POP" with brilliant vivid colors and look very natural. This became even easier when VCR's came out, because then I'd simply pause a scene on Gilligan's Island and adjust away.

What's really far fetched is that the Howells would go on someone else's boat in the first place, and of course bring trunks full of clothing and cash - for a "three hour tour." An entire book could be written on the silliness of the show, but I guess that's part of the fun of Gilligan's Island.

What freaks me out about how their clothes never faded or got ripped was how, in Season #3, Maryann had new, hip, clothes including a cap and I was like where the hell did that come from??? And Ginger always had the latest hairstyle, how would she know? She listened to the fashion news on the radio but I doubt they got much into how that hair was accomplished or how it was cut. And man how much hair spray did she bring with her??? :) Re the Russians, if you were old enough to remember the times (and I am), Russians were the baddies in a lot of TV shows and movies back then. Also a lot of space-type themes - that was *everywhere*. Gilligan did a couple of them, apart from the cosmonauts there were American astronauts that flew close to the island, and the unmanned spacecraft that landed in the lagoon. also there was an American missile that landed ont he island that failed to explode, the NASA module that was supposed to land on Mars but only got as far as the island...these were all common Cold War/Space Age themes. The cartoons were the same - Josie and the Pussycats eventually went into space, so did the Beatles (they were a Saturday morning cartoon in the '60s) and of course there was the Jetsons. Even Batman got into the act - the Joker builds a flying saucer and used it for the dumbass idea of committing lame crimes he'd never get away with because Batman was smarter (even if he didn't know how to build a flying saucer) rather than, say, selling it to NASA for billions... :)

It makes sense that the Skipper and Gilligan would have spare clothes on their boat. Fro some reason the Howell's had suit cases with them with spare clothes. As for the others, It is never explained on the show, tho I have heard that there was talk of the castaways finding an old WWII USO ship sunk off shore of the island that gets washed up during a storm and they were able to find and take off it several things such as trunks full of cloths, an old record player and records, and some other things which show up in the show later, before the ship was once more washed back out to sea. It was never made because the writers figured no one would care why they had things that shouldn't be there if they were castaways, also the episode didn't have anything other than this, and wasn't long enough, and wouldn't fit with any of their other script ideas.

Gillligan's Island was produced by Sherwood Schwartz. Sherwood wasn't famous for paying attention to little details like how could the clothes of the castaways stay looking nice. Gilligan owning multiple red shirts and white caps is somewhat implausible. It is fairly ridiculous that he would take multiple red shirts and white caps along on what the theme song announces was intended to be "a three hour tour".

I did many split-screen effects, using PowerPoint, in my two feature-length (amateur) films and one short film, but all of them involved complex backgrounds (such as woodlands) so I could blur the edges without it being noticed.
