Thank you very much for this excellent summary of the current microchip conflict between the US and China. In the end, I don't see how the US and its western allies can prevent China from ultimately gaining supremacy in microchips. China's governmental structure allows it to very easily invest massive amounts of resources over many years into developing its microchip industry. The resources and determination combined with China's ability to graduate large numbers of scientists and engineers gives China a very large edge in this conflict over microchips. It was unwise for the US to engage in this strategy of trying to cut-off China's access to advanced microchips, and I suspect that the US will realize the folly of this policy in the fullness of time.

The reason why TSMC are short of staff is the pay for foundry work on the mainland is double what they are paid. Taiwan is suffering such a brain drain that they have had to make it illegal to hop over to the mainland to work. I''m not sure how well these measures work though and think it looks like desperation. The mainland is like full speed ahead. Anyone can see it is the future of world chip production.

Normally competition is good for the consumer, however the tactics the US is resorting to is more disruptive than competitive. In many cases, they are logic defying and regressive for everyone. This is why I m on China's side. Only by breaking through and throwing the US far behind, will they withdraw such tactics. But then they will rely even more keenly on military tactics instead. America is going to have a hell of a time spinning up more semiconductor manufacturing. It takes twice as long for a semiconductor firm to hire someone in America as in other places. There simply aren't enough trained workers. If you look at the most prestigious, most well compensated fields, it's dominated by investment banking and law. The bulk of the high quality labor force goes into those areas, leaving STIM fields relatively starved for talent, and most of that talent is coming from overseas anyway. What we have, in other words, is a massive resource misallocation. Everyone is passing on fields that actually create wealth and focusing instead on taking wealth away from others.

its inaccurate to suggest any other market doesn't have the talent, what they lack is the experience... fab work is very unique, therefore the real experts in manufacturing are prized employees, most of whom work round the clock. therefore, success in this field takes a unique talent and work ethic... something that's rare everywhere, otherwise TSMC wouldn't hold the place it did in the market and other nations would have their own high level fabs.

I would like to know when the Chinese 28 nm lithographic machine has been deployed in a fab. As I see it, they have to have it, or the US cabal will press on to starve China. 28 nm doesn't sound great for those who think 4 nm is the current level. But it's enough to affect the entire semiconductor industry. And if they can get independency at that level. They have a chance to progress from that. And if they have that base, the US Cabal will find it hard to press harder. It will begin to hurt them themselves too much.

Could you put videos like that, where it's mainly about what you say, in a podcast format? Would be great listening to it while working out etc.

Yes there only one group in their borders that can bully and a few in Africa but it could never last forever they have to fall as all empires do and the new multi culture one have to come into existence to fight against the coming alien invasion of Jesus Christ written in the Bible. Everyone hates the one in the Bible but love the other hippies Jesus. It so bad that people believe the Old Testament is another God than the one in the new but the Bible says he changes not and he never got raid of his laws. When he comes back he ruling with a iron fist to the letter of his laws for Jesus himself said heaven and earth will pass away before his laws in void. He going to reinstate his laws all kingdoms have laws and his thousand years rein will have laws. The world hate him and they preparing themselves to fight him and go after his people. People may not believe the Bible but they sure do to the T. They actions prove louder than words why they talking about blocking the sun (billy gates) and they talking about making a fake sun and moon, they making technology to purify water, building shelters for themselves trying to find ways to escape into the heaven as the Bible itself says they will do. A book written thousands of years ago talks about those trying to escape judging by escaping into the heavens which the Bible says they not going to escape.

Always been that way for decades and the same when from the empire they came from. All world orders want to stay on top and do everything in their power to stay at top until it falls apart like the Roman Empire which was never conquered by another superpower to replace it. It just split into smaller empires. Now they getting ready to form the last multi culture world order written in the Bible and the last one on earth that going to last for just three and a half years. We going to WW3 as they going to fight to take the standard quo they don’t want prophecy to come to pass because it don’t end good for them.

Few centuries ago China was a dominant society, it could become a leading country given time and stimulating kick from US. Other countries will not abide by US sanctions for long, economic ties with China are too broad and deep.
