Today in the news in the UK is that all stolen mobile phones are ending up in China. 52,000 phones in London alone are stolen every year and apparently ending up in China. Why China? Everyone as far as I know owns a mobile phone in China. All the Vlogs I watch like yours shows people with a phone in their hand. I would love to know from the local police in your city how many are stolen each week compared to London. (1000 a week). Perhaps you can ask at the city police station and explain why you are asking.

I am from the UK, as are you and first came to Zhuhai in 2010 and have been on Hengqin for the last three years. You are correct, this place is rapidly developing, and excellent for access to Macau (I can walk it in ten minutes from our place) and to Hong Kong, especially since the bridge opened.
