I am guessing that Fifi's hard udder would have meant her baby wouldn't have been able to touch her udder either. So you have helped Fifi to feel better, helped her fitter baby to be able to nurse from her mother, AND helped yourself to be able to milk your goat. So a success all around!

The goslings are so big and adorable! Goldie's surprise cameo made me laugh out loud. I felt the goats would react positively to the milking station but Fifi's behavior re the application of the salve definitely exceeded my expectations! Kudos to the person that suggested that exact product! Mama Brooke is getting closer to having a dream come true. (If you wanted the flexibility to wash sections of the Counter Skirt you could cut it into sections. Each end could be independent sections. The sink side one section and the long run adjacent to the door to the interior of barn could be 2 sections. Instead of one long run of fabric it could be 5 sections. If you didn't want to do the sewing you could check into 'fusible webbing'. It's very thin. You simply press the hems in-place, add strips of fusible webbing inside the folded area and use an iron to activate the adhesive. The webbing actually dissolves. Years ago a popular brand was "Stitch Witchery". Sometimes it's sold by the yard, sometimes it's on a spool similar to ribbon. You could also hand the Counter Drapes on small curtains. If the cats start climbing the Counter Curtains you might consider using denim. Old jeans from thrift stores sewn together with the legs vertical might be fun. Cup hooks in the belt loops to hold them in-place would be unique.)

I know there's probably a ton of suggestions on what to do with the junk curtain, but here's my suggestion: On the sink and table part, you can staple gun the velcro to that, but on your fabric, you can sew the other half of the velcro to your fabric. This way the kitties 😺 won't destroy the curtain. I understand waking up and seeing what you put so much time making destroyed by cute kitties having fun. The sticky part from the velcro will not last forever on the fabric, so just sew it on. Do it the right way the first or second time and then it will be perfect. If the kitties do pull it down, you can just put the curtain back up, instead of putting the velcro back on the sink and table and fabric. That will get very old very quickly. ❤❤❤❤

If you use Velcro to fasten the fabric to the counter you can then remove it easy to launder it when it needs to be laundered. Put the hook side to the wood edge of the counter and the loop side to the fabric. You can use staples to fasten the hook side to the wood and sew the loop side to the fabric. I use to work for an interior design work room and that's how we would fasten skirts to counters.
