No shame in spending a little bit more than you typically would to get a big lot of awesome pick ups. That super famicom is in amazing condition. The Dreamcast games and to find that many is unheard of in the east coast so that’s awesome knowing fellow Canadians a little West can still find them :) At $500 I think you got your money’s worth for sure.

KZbin has made this illusion that you can get $10,000 worth of video games for 50 bucks from some grandma clearing out her grown up grandchildren childhood. Sure, that happens, but honestly, that just can’t happen that often. I’ve done the math on it. People who constantly scan FB and Craigslist looking for deals that are gone within 10 minutes are spending ENORMOUS amounts of time and energy getting deals. People who troll at thrift shops and pawn stores 5 days a week. The reality is, if you spent that same amount of time and energy towards improving your career or financial situation, you’d be able to buy the same amount of games and then some PLUS, you know, actually setting yourself up for life. I don’t mind stumbling on a deal once and awhile. But I don’t think it’s health to make it your whole life. Even making it a significant part of your life is questionable.

@@leeartlee915 I get that for sure. Sometimes hobby can cross over to obsession and at that point, it's definitely an unhealthy practice but for other people that are in it for the thrill of the hunt, that's fun. Why would you take your fun time and put it back into your career? There has to be a balance. My husband and I are not big hunters, we get the odd deal but mostly its just fun to go out and about and share the love of our hobby together. As two people that are already where we want to be in our careers in our 40's we make the most of our free time and the time we have with each other and our son. It bothers me more when people collect a ton of games and never play them. Another thing to consider is that KZbin is a snapshot. So if you only see deals and huge finds once a month, we know that the other 29-30 days were no score days. In our videos we usually have a beer as we talk about games and we've actually had people accuse us of being alcoholics lol. We have a couple beer on the weekend, so like a said, it's a snap shot not the entire picture.

@@RetroRivals I agree with almost everything you said. If people are having fun seeking out deals, that’s like killing two birds with one stone. But you also touched on the big thing that creates this bs perspective on social media/youtube which is to only show your successes. I really wish more people showed the other side of game hunting, i.e. striking out.

@@leeartlee915 Funny enough that you mentioned the flip side of the coin, It’s something we’re actually getting ready to explore on our channel. The problem is KZbin is pushing hunting content hard now, and most everyone is in it for seeing the successful part of the hunt. I think there’s value though to showing the other side for sure

@@RetroRivals Not only has youtube pushed for “the big finds” but it also has low key turned almost every retro gaming channel into a reseller promotion gig. Everyone of the game hunting channels that are popular will say the same thing “retro game collecting is too expensive now. The way to build your collection is to find games when you’re out and flip em for cash!” Like, if I wanted to watch people sell crap on eBay and/or Amazon, I would just sub to a channel who’s sole focus was on that angle. Personally, I think it’s a bunch of crap that you “need” to become a reseller to fund your gaming hobby. I’ve never once resold anything and I’ve managed to collect games just fine. And don’t even get me started in the whole Whatnot deal. That took the situation from distasteful to straight up predatory. We you use your loyal viewing audience to sell them overpriced crap on a auction platform, you have become no better than a infomercial. I cannot believe how shameless content creators flocked to that platform and thought nothing of it to take advance of their fans. Gross is the only word I can think of to describe what that is.

Super Famicom can be bought for cheap. As for the Sega Saturn arcade stick, these days, it's the Brook Wingman SD and the arcade stick they made these days...

Actually the psu is not the same for the Super famicom compared with either the United States or pal version of the Super Nintendo entertainment system infact it's closer to the Sega Genesis one 9v 1amp negative centre!
