These are beautiful! I said to myself, when you made the first mold, "I think she just flipped the tree", but I guess my voice wasn't loud enough to reach you (in the recent past, when filming) 😂. I watched a video by Steve McDonald arts and crafts the other day, and he was testing Istoyo mica powders, and at least on the video, the red mica looked pretty vibrant. Honestly, though, for this project, the red glitter is better than anything a mica could produce. ❤

Hi Claire. If you can get hold of it, Eye Candy has got the most amazing range of red micas and pigment pastes. They come as red as that glitter.

Both of those trucks look amazing! I love that red glitter! I have had trouble missing spots when top coating, too. It's hard to tell sometimes if the resin is all the way to the edge or not. The glitter tree is so pretty!

🎉These are so cute 😍 I have a hint for you. When you work with the epoxy glue , use alcohol to clean up with, off your fingers, etc. And leave your tooth pick that you mixed it with still in the glue puddle to setup. When you can no longer get it out of the glue, then you know that it's dry! 😊 Also , for great lighting ✨️ I recommend an Ott light. Look on line, and in craft stores. It gives great lighting!! I've been using mine for over 20 years! And love ❤️ it! 😊

Do you use UV resin? Some Ott lite bulbs, and other light bulbs labeled true daylight or full spectrum light can start setting UV resin.

I got my blanks from Lothian Woodworks, and poured my first molds today. I freaked out when the first one started leaking, so I stopped and pur each one in a small metal bowl, hopefully tomorrow I can see how the molds turned out! I can hardly wait! I liked the glitter tree best, so I will add some along with the mica powder. This ornament will be for my best friend, and I will gove it to her next week, if it turns out. Thank you for all the tips in your videos! ❤

Steve McDonald just did a video using Istoyo mica powders, the red, was the most true red, that I’ve ever seen…. Those trucks are absolutely adorable!!! I’ve actually had to use magnifying glasses, but my eyes are older than yours!! Lol

Claire, these are just adorable. I live in the US. There is a company in Delray Beach Florida called Mad Mica. They have a red called True Blend Red. I was skeptical when I got it, but when it mixed with the resin, wow, a really good red. I’m not sure if they ship internationally, but maybe worth a shot. They have different sizes for purchase, so you can try a bunch of different colors. All I’ve purchased have been amazing. Good luck.

2:47am watching your video Claire. Another great project!! I did wonder why you didn’t make a glittery tree to start off with because I figured that when decorated glitter would be a perfect way to make it sparkle with lights hitting the glitter. Then I thought, you don’t have decorations on your real tree when you buy one. So then plain made more sense. But I was cheered up when I saw the glittery tree. I realised seeing the plain block colour tree, it didn’t work 100% for me because it didn’t have the pine needles which gives the tree its definition so it looked a bit flat to me personally. But the glittery one despite my earlier comment, worked perfectly for some definition. If you do make another one, I would love to see what black glittery tyres would come out like. I was thinking what would those tyres be like if it had been raining or snowing out & you come back with wet tyres. Would sparkly tyres look great or would they be over too much? But it’s that time of year. Can there be a thing as too much glitter? Let me know your thoughts if you made it to the end of this message. Thanks Claire!! I heard about this red glitter on another channel. They claimed it is the best red around. I don’t have a lot of experience, but I was impressed. It is made by WTRCSV. Sorry but I don’t remember where I got it, but I don’t think it’s on Amazon.
