Pity they don't pay them a living wage. I'm still trying to get my head around the clueless ignorance that lead to them telling employees who couldn't afford to eat to "cut their food into smaller pieces" so it'd "take longer to eat, then they'd feel they'd eaten more". What the actual fuck?

As a former retail worker: Andrew is a hero. He had more guts than me. I worked retail for 5 years. The only time I got upset at a customer was when a jackass of a contractor kept calling and harassing our phone lines with asking about an estimator every 5 minutes. I yelled into the phone and told him the estimator was on the road at a job site and to stop blowing up our phone lines. He swore at me, and i snapped. Another time an asshile customer yelled at me when i was heavily pregnant because we were out of a paint and couldnt get it in. My hormones kicked in and i cried in the bathroom. Thankfully I work as a para at a school and love it. I will never work retail again.

I still work in retail, there is a creepy guy with deadlocks that is almost always shopping at Goodwill, he claims to be the manager, he isn't and intviewed for a job, which he failed to get. There was this woman in 2021 and she thought I was talking about her badly to another woman , I wasn't and thought she would throw a pair of shoes at me, there are carmas in the store.

I would really like every person who says 'You need to speak english (or the - at least to this day - non-existing language *american*) to come to Germany and go through a supermarket with me. You'll hear at least one other language, most of the time two or three (and I live in a small town area). And it never even occurred to me to storm over to any of them and demand they speak german. It's none of my dang business what language they speak! It's a free country.... so is America. Someone please tell these people that.

I saw your comment and wanted to update you on the situation. Apparently she went to prison for some first level degree of assault or something like that. The entire time she pled her case in court she never once apologized to the victim who was immunocompromised because she has cancer and the judge really laid down the law on her. Thank God too

I had a mother/daughter Karen's when I worked at Rose's in Augusta GA years ago. The daughter was pushing her mom around the store, saw tarp in the $5 dollar bin, because another customer put it there. They decided to come to my register and I told them that it's not $5 but $25 very gently and professional. The daughter looked at me incredulous and stated, "Are you talking back to my mother?!". In the end, my manager took over tried to explain it too them, they still refused to pay the actual price, and he finally gave up and turned it to $5 just to get them out of the store.

Instead of the customers always right, why don’t we allow the people serving them? Tell them exactly how wrong they truly are today’s society expect a lot for nothing and that’s not fair because unless you’ve had to work like they have and I wish every every every person ever talked about a waitress had to do with themselves and go and deal with a customer like themselves only them when they understand exactly how hard and how wrong they truly

The correct line is "The customer's always right in matters of taste." Meaning, if they want to buy something ugly, tacky, etc, a business shouldn't stop them.
