Saw this and immediately remembered running around with Myron in my party in F2 specifically for the constant Jet supply. Jet gameplay wise in F2 was HUUUUGGGEEEE, arguably game breaking. With Myron making you Jet you can just always fight on a ton of Jet, use hand to hand and you can attack like a dozen times in a single round, with a power fist that's just a trail of corpses before the enemy gets to move. Remember combat in F2 was all turn based and everything ran on AP, not just V.A.T.S.... EVERYTHING was AP in combat, opening your inventory IIRC took AP in combat in F2. So having ten times the AP of anyone else was yeah, arguable game breaking. Thank you Myron! Basically as close as F2 had to a god mode was having that pasty sociopath in your party turning raw components into Jet!

Bethesda's writing staff might have been half decent once upon a time but nowadays? Nah bruh. Bethesda is flat out garbage now. Bethesda's writers and in many cases entire dev staff are complete idiots. They constantly create inconsistencies and directly contradict their own ideas and stories let alone those from the ones who came before them. Fallout 3 is simply Fallout 2's story recycled with daddy dearest thrown in as the only "original" aspect of the story. In Fallout 4 They copied everything from Fallout 3 that wasn't directly copied from Fallout 2 and then simply reversed the roles. (Parent Looking for kid instead of kid looking for parent) O yea fucking stellar lore dude. - In 4 you can find Jet - a post war invention stowed away in sealed up vaults as if it existed before the war. - In 4 all of a sudden any random jackass can construct a water purifier literally from random junk. Making 3's entire plot even more ridiculously retarded than it already was. - In Fallout 1 it was confirmed that the radiation in the wastes had returned to livable levels only a few years after the bombs dropped. In Fallout 2 this was confirmed again and radiation was entirely gone with the exception of places with things like nuclear powerplants and toxic waste drums - consistent with real life. In 3 a FLOWING FUCKING RIVER CONNECTED TO THE OCEAN was irradiated because dERR scIENce HaRd. - In 4 Virgyl, an institute scientist exposes himself to FEV and mutates into a super mutant. By definition a mutation isn't predictable, but the dude had somehow made a magic fucking serum BEFORE he mutated that would reliable revert himself back to being human. This works on SPECIFICALLY ONLY HIM - meaning he literally mapped not only the human genome, but the genome of an entity that DIDN'T FUCKING EXIST YET and made a magic juice to swap them on the fly with no ill effects?! Oh Yeah. Top quality lore. Need I go on? I could. I'd rather not spend another 10 minutes writing though.

The issue with Bethesda is that it tries to stretch things thin way too many times. It actually have over 30 writers working on both of their mainstream Open World RPG (Elderscrolls and FallOut). That's because they add so many written and visual-based story content that it becomes an impossible task for a normal team of writers. The down side of that thing is that having so many writer makes it unbelievably hard to manage overall. Kinda like if you were to take 30 Light Novel writers and ask each of them to write different chapters of a single story. Inconsistencies, mistakes and things forgotten are bound to happens all the time. The way Bethesda works its lore is in a form of a country map. Each parts might be connected a few times, but they don't care that much if 2 parts far from each other makes no sense if not connected. In the way Bethesda (as a game development company) work, 1km distance is enough to separate 2 totally different worlds involving "local" inconsistencies that could be really close to the difference between living in New York and Living in the South Cap in Africa.

You also do gain a speed boost while using it, even though it seems like you're affected as well, it's actually no where near to the degree that everyone else around you is affected. Jet is a pre-war chem and I can prove it. The Sole Survivor can exit Vault 111, walk down to Sanctuary to the chemistry table, grab the fertilizer sitting next to it, and make jet right there. They have spoken to nobody, read no recipes or books, and have no perks yet. Which means the only chemistry knowledge they have is what they were frozen with. Bam.

Seems Bethesda made a slight retcon to explain the existance of Jet on sealed vaults. Jet is not as new as it was tought. There was a weaker version of it that was made of garden fertilizer, that was growing rampant on the Pre-War US. Myron redisvovered the method to produce it, and after some testing, and about 100 slaves dead, he managed to create a more powerful, more addictive version that brought Redding to his employer's feet. Myron's "super jet" cannot be acquired since he is dead, and never left notes about his version. But the Khans managed to take some info from Myron's slaves and learned how to make the more common version, both with bramin dung and fertilizer.

Also, the whole reason you can find Jet in vaults and pre-war bunkers is because the items in containers are randomized with item pools and the developers didn't bother creating separate item pools for vaults.

The risk of addiction is something to be feared about. You don't want to loose those hard-earned stats points because you don't have anymore jet on hand (especially if you sold it all earlier in the game). It's also annoying when you're forced to use the drug and "waste" its effect when you don't want/need it. Those 2 things are two good reasons to stay away from jets. Sure, you "could" create a separate save or something especially to use the stuff for fun, but it's, again, a form of inconvenience which weight depending on how the player see the taste versus the gain.

They are not "made". They simply exist. And their existence is not comprehensible by mortal standards, as concepts like space and time do not affect them the same way as the rest of mundane objects. I suppose the developers made them this ambiguous on purpose. ANd to be honest, they didn't have a clear picture of what they really were when they coined the Saga name Elder Scrolls. You know why the first one is called Elder scrolls: Arena? it was originally supposed to be a gladiator game but the RPG element grew so much that they decided to make it an open world game. The problem was they had already settled for the name Arena and things were printed, etc, so they had to make the best out of a bad situation. They just introduced actual scrolls later in the saga so that it made some sense for the fans.

Let's get this straight. Bathesda forced Black Isle into a corner, using their influence to slow production on Black Isle's fallout 3, among a lot of other shady shit, until Interplay had no choice but to lay off the studio, and sell the rights to fallout 3 to bathesda. Even then, the original agreement was interplay would continue with their version alongside bathesda, but bathesda, again using shady ass tactics, took them to court, forcing the original fallout 3 to be canceled. Hell, bathesda even prevented interplay from making the online fallout game, somehow convincing a judge to strip them of every right that was agreed on in the contracts. I love bathesda's elder scrolls series, but fallout could have been so much more, so much better, if bathesda hadn't gotten their greedy paws on it. The fact this shit was kept quiet and even now most people know nothing of this story infuriates me, but even worse are the fanboys who defend bathesda's dirty bullshit here... fuck, i hate this world.

So blame the fans and also before E3 2015 , Most fans were complaining a lot about New vegas and how broken it was and saying Fallout 3 is better . Okay, lets take a step back in FO time to FONV, the DLC...Dead Money. I believe there was Jet all over The Casino and maybe if memory serves me correctly, in the Pre-War Dispensers which would definitely make it Pre-War consumables. The dispensers where as some fans know, made at The Big Empty which was a Pre-War think tank and in DLC, Old World Blues, I believe that you could buy Jet in The Sink which definitely dates Jet as being Pre-War Rx.

There is also an Easter egg inside the Sanctuary Hills in Fallout 4, one that contradicts the lore established by Fallout 2 as Jet being invented after the great war. And yes I know, Fallout 2 was a great game and I played it through and found exactly what you pointed out in this video. But there is a prewar computer inside one of the houses, with logs on it describing ordering chems, including Jet, for the people of Sanctuary hills prior to the war. Its kinda stupid, honestly Bethesda didn't bother to research the lore they bought at all from interplay with the franchise.
