Certain arcs resonate with people differently. My first time on Skypea was a slog to get through. Water Seven is my favorite arc. Anime's pretty good, though the pacing is pretty bad due to the weekly release schedule: late Dressrosa, and early Whole Cake Island especially suffer from pacing. One Piece's manga handles the pacing a lot better.

One good example of the genius IQ of the Dragon Ball fanbase (I've been one since i was a kid), is that some of them legitimately believe that teen Gohan from the Cell Saga can beat Cabba. As for AoT, a girl I was interested in ruined the ending for me when I told her I'm an anime only watcher (excluding Berserk).

I think people who don’t like One Piece are most likely turned off by Luffy and possibly find him obnoxious. His powers seem to amplify this especially if you don’t know what the hell is going on or how they work. And it must be puzzling and weird for a power that sounds as lame as being made of rubber can actually be good. Whenever I’ve shown any fights of One Piece to my friends they always seemed puzzled at how Luffy could have won and underestimate him. But I think thats what Oda wanted even the characters in the show underestimate him and don’t fight as serious or are caught off guard when Luffy sends a fist flying at them meters away. I noticed that they especially underestimate him when they do know what his powers do and ask why they don’t just dodge or grab his arms? But just like in Jojo the characters don’t know what the others stands ability’s are until they are already fighting as there Is only one of every devil fruit. They think the enemy Luffy is fighting already knows all his powers and moves off the bat like they the viewer know. The devil fruits and world logic may also throw some off especially if you don’t start from the beginning. Even the In world pedestrians are startled or don’t understand as they may never have seen a devil fruit user or that particular fruit throwing them off guard. What I personally really like from One Piece was the world and being that I was really interested in pirates and ships I wanted to see a show about them. Seeing the Islands, never staying in one place for long, looking for treasure. As well as Odas crazy looking exaggerated characters with their hilarious expressions. Believe me when I say I was a little thrown off when I realized real pirates weren’t as easy going as the Straw Hats. But like Luffy and his crew they are free spirits and don’t care what anyone else thinks or says and are what they think pirates should be.

I enjoy my time with the Straw Hats and when you really like a show you never want it to end. Also who knows If the show ends after they find the One Piece It could continue with them ruling the seas and thats also If they find It.

Yeah, Naruto fanbase is one of the worst, definitely. Naruto fans fight dragon ball fans and say that Naruto has better story. Then when someone mentions Hunter X Hunter then they say Naruto solos. Then someone mentions Bleach they say Naruto is better. Then someone mentions one piece and they start with the Naruto solos thing again. Then they go out to say that new gen anime are copies of Naruto, Then when someone mentions Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho and HunterXHunter, they say it's not a copy, Kishimoto just took inspiration from them.
