It’s funny when you think of it because Both Goku and Piccolo made the same mistake in the end about Gohan they both assumed he’d be able to follow through with a killer instinct before realizing he only had it when he was pushed into it and when Piccolo filled Goku on the mistake he made he was speaking from his own experience after Gohan couldn’t strike the finishing blow on Nappa back then because he got scared.

Aight let's talk about it Goku is a good dad. He sacrificed himself for his son multiple times. He allowed him to pursue his craft even though it's pointless. During the cell games, the reason why he gave Cell a sensu bean was from the whole hearted confidence he has in his son. He knew wether or not Cell was powered up, he wouldn't win. It took me awhile to understand it then it clicked cause my boxing coach does the same thing. He puts me in the ring with men WAY bigger and more experienced, and sometimes will coach the other fighter in the middle of the sparring. Why? Cause he knew my capabilities, and I'd still show out Just like Gohan. He put the BEAT DOWN ON CELL. And won against SUPER PERFECT CELL while tired and injured. Goku knew what he doing

​@fightmight4906 I disagree. Cell Games was NOT the time and place. Goku quit the fight, sent his son in, and gave his opponent a senzu bean. Keep in mind, NO ONE other than Goku and Gohan would be able to pick up the slack if Gohan fucked up, which he did. I understand admitting when you mess up, but if I gave your opponent a gun and was surprised when you were riddled with bullets, would accepting my mistake fix anything? No, cause it shouldn't have happened in the first. I agree Goku isn't a bad dad, but the Cell Games is the last place anyone should try to defend Goku.

@@oss956 See that Gun analogy would be good if we were talking about a setting where people were normal people. This is a world where 4 year olds could blow up planets against monsters that can blow up solar systems. It's not like Goku had a hunch that Gohan MIGHT be able to, he trained with Gohan for a year knowing he was the only person there who even could stand against cell. Goku gave up because he simply wasn't going to win and knew that, and while cell was beat up a little bit he was no where near as worn down as Goku was. Now Goku did mess up not know his son's nature and that he wasn't a battle hungry fighter like he was for sure. Goku ain't perfect but Goku truly believed and saw something in Gohan that would destory Cell. Gohan popping his hidden potential is the reason they could have won. When Cell jumped in the air to realease that massive kamehameha it was pretty evident that Goku was never going to beat Cell. Honestly they all could have jumped Cell and still lost. Cell was just holding back to have fun till Gohan started ragdolling him and said "enough." That's what I think ofc none of this is factual. But I think Goku had to put Gohan in that position to even stand a chance against Cell. And at the end of the day he did bet right.

Cell just annihilated Vegeta, emasculated Trunks, and tanked two of the deadliest moves in DBZ, even though he had to brace himself for the Final Flash. I know if Gohan let his anger explode, it would be enough, but that was a big if knowing who Gohan was in universe, a pacifist. That's what made Piccolo object in the first place. It took his teammates getting pummeled by Cell Jrs. to know the gravity of the situation. 16 was the real reason Gohan went SSJ2 with his speech and death following. If that never happened, who knows what else Cell would've done to finally push Gohan. It all worked out, but if one thing was out of place, it could've led to worse. Buu saga was a better example. Train Goten and Trunks and teach them the fusion. Goten and Trunks had more potential than Gohan, and the fusion was a huge power up, especially after they went SSJ3 just by watching Goku. Gohan was also training to unleash his potential and defeat Buu as well, Goku being involved with both. Not to mention, Goku and Vegeta being there as Plan B since both were among the strongest in Buu saga, even if he had to deal with Majin Vegeta and, even worse, Vegeta's pride. Shows his fatherhood skills as well as helping his sons get stronger with a much better plan than betting on the pacifist. All that without Goku's stupid choices in the Cell Games.

Tbh about Bakugo I don't need my character to be deep tbh. With good charisma ANY character archetype could be carried to success. What affected Bakugo is that he remained off to the side a bit too much before they started really developing him. Also he should've had a bit more "Sarcastic Charm" and self awareness where he KNOWS he's an a$$hole...but he enjoys it on some level

Here’s a bunch of takes, feel free to decide the temp yourself : -Bleach has one of the most appealing artstyle’s in animanaga for me, Tite Kubo can draw some great pieces. -I enjoy Bleach’s introspective and personal story writing much more than Naruto’s story writing even though it suffered massively from Jumps constant impossible deadlines and rushes. Not every main character needs to have a grand plan or goal for a story to be good. It’s a refreshing change of pace to have a main character that focuses on self discovery and acceptance rather than: “I want to be the best at X!” or “Kill the bad guy because he’s bad!”. Not that those are inherently bad. I just enjoy Bleach’s method more. -I quit watching One Piece because it couldn’t grip me in 20 episodes, usually I give shows about 10 episodes at most to get me engaged. But I gave One Piece the benefit of the doubt. I’m not watching a show for months just so it can finally get good. Plus it’s artstyle is just not my cup of tea, it isn’t bad. But just not my style. -JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure doesn’t have a bad part and is straight up some of the best animanga you can watch/read. The series is some of the most creative & expressive stories in Animanga. -Anime is 80-90% predictable and samey middle school writing carried by a budget that’s way too high for the decent at best quality of the material. -Darling in the Franxx started out as an interesting take on mecha, only to become a wannabe Evangelion. -Beserk doesn’t work outside of its manga, the art and design is simply too complex and surreal to implement into animation without watering down the art. -Fan service is for the most part, completely and utterly obnoxious and has made me stop watching shows. Brief moments are usually fine, but the egregious ones like many in Magi for example are just gross at times. It’s off putting. -Demon Slayer is a worse than bland story and piece of writing, people only like it because teens will like any show and adults only like it because of the gorgeous animation. And i’m only talking about the anime, the manga is several times worse. -My Hero Academia is an amazing concept done poorly. -I enjoy subs more than dubs because I think the Japanese language is a beautiful and cool language. That being said, there are dubs that are simply better or on par with subs. -People need to stop treating Anime and Manga like it’s the perfect form of media. It’s good, but far from perfect. -AOT is genuinely one of the best shows I have watched period. The entire story is so meticulously planned out that everything just clicks. And it has some of the best dramatic reveals i’ve seen out of animanga. -Fairy Tale and it’s fans are predictable, mediocre, samey, and straight unbearable. Couldn’t get past S2 without getting sick of their tropes.

Madara’s plan in theory wasn’t bad he wanted to stop all conflict and war by putting people in a infinite dream state, the problem was No one’s was willing gonna go for that shit because he was essentially getting rid of free will plus even when the infinite tsukoyomi happened people they knew it wasn’t real defeating the whole point of the plan

The problem with his plan was that it was reliant on Obito a kid he knew for about a year (correct me if I'm wrong) following through with the plan after Madaras death and Nagato a random kid he implanted his Rinnegan in being willing to sacrifice himself to bring Madara back to life. We even find out that Obito didn't want to bring Madara back and he wouldn't have if it wasn't for Kabuto. So the problem was Madara killed himself leaving his big plan to two kids who had no intention to follow it how he had intended.

I also remember a scene, I think it was when kirito was deciding to go into gun gail, the girls look a bit prissy that kirito and asuna are lovy or stuck at the hip(its been a while). I'm not saying they're praying for their breakup or that they wouldn't fight for the relationship. But if Kirito and Asuna, break up with no intention of getting back together. Give it a year and they're going to start taking their swings.

I refuse to watch one piece, bleach, Naruto, and dragon ball for this very reason. There’s too much content and too many different sections of the fan bases with different lists of what you could/should skip. My best friend told me Boruto has nothing to do with Naruto and anyone who says different is lying….. told me to skip 4 different arcs in one piece because he personally didn’t like them…..the list goes on. I don’t care enough when there’s so many other things to watch

8:23 I agree with u that Gohan is not a fighter except the training part. Technically he DOES train like he still does take time out of his day to actively train as we saw with young Goten. In my mind I think he trains so that the next time he NEEDS to fight as u said, he’s more prepared and stronger to help more and be better. I believe he still does train but ONLY to use those new skills to fight when needed the most. He isn’t MOTIVATED to train as u said but he does so that he is a failsafe IN THE EVENT that Goku and/or Vegeta gets clapped. But he doesn’t make it his life tho he still focuses on his priorities

Other than that, ignore everything Super brings up because this show tries to convince you that Goku doesn't know what even a kiss is despite having 2 kids and every word he says is a detriment to his character, like the seeing his family as just another set of friends, but Z had Goku being livid when Raditz kidnapped Gohan and when Goku tried to get Gohan away from the mountain he was fighting Vegeta the first time, he was more worried about Gohan's safety than beating Vegeta. On the sub vs dub part, you are so fucking correct. I grew up watching the Italian dub of Dragonball...they changed almost everyone's name. Yamcha is Yamco, Tienshinhan is Tensing, Krilin is Crili, Chichi is the same but pronounced as Kiki and the list goes on and on...and still, I fucking love that dub and whenever I heard the characters having other names was wierding me out and I am positive that, at least the Italian and American dubs voices for Goku are better than the Japanese one, simply because we had different VAs for child Goku and adult Goku, instead of having adult Goku still sounds more screechy and high-pitched than adult Gohan at the Buu Saga.

No one will probably see this but my hot take is Toriko is actually pretty well done in its world building for a shounen and it could’ve been considered one of the greats if it wasn’t for the author. Now let me explain why, it fleshes out the industry behind the fights that happens in the series. Like if you’re weak you can still be a chef, a fisherman, etc to compliment industry that bankroll the hunters for more dangerous ingredients. The world doesn’t feel like it resolves around just the fights, but rather the fights are just part of the process in a much bigger machine. It also touch on how corporations would skew the truth to drive up prices for certain ingredients. We see how they lie about certain foods being extinct, yet artificially cultivating them in secret. We even see how they use the coliseum with the sole purpose to evaluate the danger level for animals as a gambling den for the elites. And the main characters aren’t opposed to this, they know the inherent flaw in the system but they also reap the benefits from it. The series paint a very clear picture of how certain aspect of life in the universe is great, however the foundation isn’t as pretty as it look on the outside.

I disagree with the take about One Piece not being good until x episodes/chapters in. There are many of KZbinrs and new readers starting out even to this day are singing praise about the first arc of the series and are eager to dive deeper into the series. Those who have that take either are people intimidated by the 1000 chapters/episodes and deflect to viewers who sign great praise over later arcs in One Piece (ironically, these same people will watch through Naruto, Bleach, or Fairy Tail multiple times, filler included), or contrarians who watch One Piece throw out bad takes to validate the former group.

I agree but one piece fans perpetuate that idea, especially around Enies lobby, they constantly say how it rewards you the more you grind through it but I think that's the wrong way to take it. When I dropped the OP anime to read Manga I got told to push onto Enies lobby, (I just read the Manga and don't regret it, no pacing issues). The real reason one piece feels better the more you consume it is because it has good payoffs because they build up for like 4 arcs and compound in one big one (marineford and wano). Marineford and wano had an overarching plot for multiple arcs and they all compounded in both and resolved in both, that's why it feels so good, the pay off is what is great. But it's definitely one piece fans pushing people to keep watching for sure

Early arcs are still satisfying to watch/read and have their own satisfying conclusions. I agree and disagree with the Gohan being what he's supposed to do. I agree that his character isn't a fighter. The only problem I have with him not training is that he knows he can outpower Goku and Vegeta. He doesn't have to train as often or as hard but them hypothetically doing the god ritual on him or him doing moderate training shouldn't be too far out of his character because as said he fights when he has to (ie: Super Hero). He doesn't have to be Goku's successor or have ultra instinct etc etc (I mentioned the God ritual as we saw the natural boost it gave Goku and Vegeta) but I feel he should at least be training to maintain (not go back to tracksuit gohan) to protect his newfound family (the necessity)

I agree, most fan's expectations of him is not to be a fighter per say but to be Earth's next hero. The fact that Gohan doesn't fight for fun, to surpass his limits or fight for his own selfish reasons but rather fight out of necessity and fight for others rather than for himself is more hero worthy. Gohan has earned his right to achieve his dream as a scholar and be a family man because he fought for it but know that any potential threat can disrupt, destroy and take that away from him and he has the power and potential to continue to protect and fight for that peace he so rightfully earned. Gohan could've easily been the Peter Parker or Bruce Wayne of Dragon Ball and could've taken his potential a step further as an adult. It's clear that Goku and Vegeta aren't always going to be around and Goku doesn't want to be the strongest if it means he can't get stronger or fight stronger opponents to improve and test himself otherwise he's most likely quit altogether if that were truly the case.

DBS should have just continued with Goku. Jr and Vegeta. Jr as the protagonists within a full century after DBGT along with bringing in a new generation of Z-Warriors to defend Earth, one of the biggest problems with the version of DBS we have right now is that aside from the ridiculous power scaling and odd character choices is that we are still trapped in a stagnant 10-year period time bubble where we all know that the Z-Warriors completely are safe since it takes place before the End of Z. Also Zamasu is one of the worst antagonists in the history of DB, while Frezia should have never been brought back in the first place as Cooler should have just been used instead.

If you make some tweaks to the version of Super we have now and put the juniors in the OG’s place it can be done, with Gohan while he was a good character he was a bit too normal by DB standards which is why people preferred Goku to him.

Cell Saga ended with Goku passing the torch to Gohan, then throughout the Buu Saga starting with the Tournament arc, Goku over took Gohan as a core character. Toriyama tried to buff up Gohan with a power boost, but it was swept aside for Goku and Vegeta for the final stages of the Saga. The final panel of Z is of Goku flying off with Uub to train him to be the protector of Earth. GT started out as a space adventure, akin to OG Dragon Ball, but it quickly shifted back to Goku being the most powerful and saving the day, even Uub was brushed aside in power compared to the likes of Baby and the Shadow Dragons. Narratively, it'd be great if Super starred other characters, but unfortunately Shonen Jump and Toei care more about manga sales and will have Toriyama and his protege work on Super as a Goku focused story, because that's what has made them money. Goku being powerful and training all day makes money.

Though the more I think about it they would probably just make the descendants to be exactly like the original Goku and Vegeta, which also sucks in of itself but them still keeping us in this 10 year time period also isn’t a good idea in the long run as stagnation leads to apathy and a good portion of the fandom is feeling that right now.

I can understand not liking bakugo ever, a lot of people don't but saying he is not a great character eh..... Yeah I don't know about that one. Bakugo if anything is the most developed in my hero because we seen him since season 1 before even endeavour was around who most people would consider a great character. I do think bakugo is entertaining and funny, all tho his humor is not for everyone. in fact i think he is more entertaining then 90% of the cast. Bakugo growth revolved around realistic humbling but not humbling from losing to the main character as he didn't really ever lose in a fist fight, but humbling in the fact that he got kidnapped, or captured by the sludge villian and had misfortunate of seeing midoriya coming in to save him midoraiya didn't save him it was all might but just the fact midoriya was one of the people to do it was a blow to his pride. Him beating todoroki, but not with him using his full power was also a blow to his pride. His first defeat to midoriya bakugo doesn't lose in combat but he gets outstrategized with deku focusing on the objective of the mission rather then the fight. I like how horikoshi handles Bakugo growth where its a blow to his pride but its not directly from the main characters its just from life and experiences, not just oh the main character beat him up now he is nice. It's not like other rival characters where its like oh damm the main character beat my ass i respect em now. Bakugo himself slowly starts to look at deku and respect him even tho the last time they fight bakugo wins.

Black clover is an actual very good animanga, but people blindly rate it off the first few episodes of the anime or take people's opinion without watching or reading it. Dragon ball is not in the big 3. However, it inspired a lot of things in the big 3. Hence the name grandfather of the big 3. Bleach is the strongest out of the big 3. Naruto second and one piece a little bit behind naruto. Fanservice is fine if there is a little bit of it. If an anime is not enjoyable or interesting within at least 5-7 episodes it is not that good. Piccolo should not be "gohan's dad" he is more of gohan's uncle or brother. Attack on titan's ending is not bad. It's alright. My hero academia is a good animanga, but the fandom ruins its reputation to people who haven't watched it. I wouldn’t say DBZ is my favorite anime, I prefer more darker psychological, mind games, gore animations. There’s definitely more underrated dimes out there that have well written stories and intriguing characters, but at the end of the day just enjoy what peaks your interests.

In defense of Thriller Bark when I was younger (haven't rewatched): Humor: hilarious (putting zombie into grave), docking and robin just watching horrified, Usopp being negative Lewd: Nami scenes (wedding, bath). Robin scenes (anything), PERONA???? Fight scenes: Gear 3 vs. Zombie Giant, Nightmare Luffy???, Usopp/Sogeking vs. Ghosts, Toys, & Perona Emotional scenes: Nothing Happened, Rumbar Pirates last song, Sogeking returns Characters: Lola (I guess?), Kuma. Mostly Ls though (Hogback, Moria, Bearsy, Brook (didn't like him til' later)

My gripe with English Dub is that it just sounds like they're trying to force emotions into their lines but it never comes out properly. Granted there are some FANTASTIC dub VAs it just seems like theyre so rare though. THAT BEING SAID, when the shows allow their actors to not take it seriously and just let them go wild they are 10/10 most of the time

I have another one. Eren is the only interesting character in Attack on Titan. Ninety-nine percent of dead characters get 10 minutes of screen time if that before they get killed off so why should I care if they die plus a lot of the deaths are caused by the characters own stupidity. There was one guy that died in season 1 that got killed by a Titan trying to save another guy and instead of going for the Titans glaringly exposed weak spot he jumped in front of off the damn thing which unsurprisingly get them killed and yet the show treated his death as traumatic even it was more funny than tragic

Another thing is that both Goku and Vegeta are pureblood saiyans, if anything fighting literally runs in their veins while Gohan, Goten and Trunks are half-saiyans, you can see in the anime that Trunks is very objective and would rather destroy Cell once and for all while Vegeta wanted to fight him at full power.

To bring up my take on the Itachi thing, the episode where he dies, itself is very beautiful and powerful, the execution of the concept is fine, it’s really the concept itself that’s flawed. The thing where he only did it to be a spy for the village is fine, except for the fact that the village was fine with the clan dying to get there. The thing with him secretly being a good guy and secretly loving his brother is interesting, but it still doesn’t excuse his abuse towards Sasuke in the show, even if (and this is a stretch here) he was only doing it for show so that the Atastki would not think I he’s going soft or something. And Itachis plan. Ho boy his plan itself is a hot mess. I mean telling his brother to use his trauma and hatred for him to fuel him to become a better ninja to eventually defeat him in battle years later? You really expect him to use that much negative reinforcement to fuel him? I’ve never met a single person who’s ever been fueled by negative reinforcement, let alone that much AND TRUAMA ON TOP OF THAT!! (But then again it did work so maybe Itachi knew it would cause he knows his brother? But that’s still a stretch) Really the way I see it Itachi really shouldn’t be seen as a good guy or a bad guy. To me he’s more of an anti hero or a hero who uses necessary evil to win. (Which imo still isn’t a hero but I guess that would more depend on your morals as a person.) But even if he was evil it doesn’t mean his death wasn’t tragic, which it was and I’ll always believe it as so. I mean we all knew it was gonna be. Even if he killed the whole Clan, he was still Sasukes brother and hero at one point, so now he gets killed by Sasuke, and now with his revenge all those years of wanting it are now wasted cause now that he has revenge, Sasuke now has nothing to live for. Neither of them deserved for things to happen the way they did imho. But that’s just me and maybe I’m too sympathetic. Sorry for the long comment btw

Cause how many times you gonna be caught on the back foot when your world is in danger, and your dad ain’t here? (Buu, Frieza,cell max) It’s not he’s not fast or smart enough to multitask especially in that stage of his life. This is could basically be normal exercise to stay in shape, protecting his family should also be a major concern for him to warrant maintaining his training along side work.

It’s personally my favorite of the 3. I don’t much like One Piece’s general design (except for Zoro), and I just enjoy Bleach more than I do Naruto, especially with Thousand Year Blood War anime killing it right now

One of the hottest Yu-Gi-Oh takes I can offer: Zexal was Peak Yugioh. The Barians were Fantastically written villains(Especially Nasch. Merag was little more than a background character once she stopped being Rio), Vector was the Best iteration of the “Yami Bakura” archetype, and Kaito’s subplot with Haruto was Top Tier
