I don't know how I found this video! I am a khateeb and must admit this is exactly what I have been dealing with. We have too many people with degrees in other fields other than Islam. Agreed, there are so many times some people keep repeating the same thing over and over again and alhamdulillah for the reminder but there are so many other things we need to be reminded of especially the small things like manners, how many of us hold the door open for other people when entering a room or scratch that, open the door for our parents or spouses? I love how he described Islam as syumul and a complete way of life, because we (myself especially) tend to forget that. . P.s, for anyone wanting to advice or critisize baba ali in any way, imaam syafie said it should be done directly to the one we want to advice and discreetly (in a message or e.t.c) not in a comment or openly :-). ***** Assalamu alaikkum brothers or sisters in this thread. We should respect Ulamas or be tolerant to any person on this Earth because that's what Islam teaches. I don't think Brother Baba Ali's intention was to disrespect the Ulamas but was rather giving suggestions to what they could do in order to improve their Khutbas or lectures.

Thank you for telling it like it is! I laughed so hard I was in tears. In psychology, laughter is a release of tension. When something makes us uncomfortable (due to guilty concious perhaps or plain truth) we have to release the tension one way or another and laughter is a sure sign of that. I haven't been to a mosque in years simply because it is not in touch with our lives and concerns. I do my own research into the Deen using books and the internet. I also watch videos like yours and those from other learned Muslims (Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, Yusuf Estes etc) who address the issues I'm interested in.

The stagnancy of a Masjid should not be your excuse for at least attending the 5 Time Daily Prayers. Going to the masjid is a Sunnah Muakkadah for men, regardless of anything else; assuming you're a male.

u are making fun of Jumuah and the Imams...this is a matter that should be taken up with the Imam by the Masjid's Board of Trustees...this is embarrassing to the Ummah...the Prophet never made a Khutbah about sex...at our Masjid we have khutbahs about kids right and parents right and so does the masjid in UK like Green lane Masjid. you should research first.
