A brief rundown of the Toni Morrison novels I found to be most gripping from start to finish. She lived to be 88 years old. I encourage you to watch some of her interviews in addition to reading some of her fiction. Here are some interviews I recommend:
On Life as a Writer: • From 2004: Toni Morris...
On her novel, Jazz: • Toni Morrison intervie...
If you'd like to learn more about her life, this In Memoriam video is a decent place to start: • Remembering Toni Morri...

I knew right away after reading The Bluest Eye that I wanted to read all of her books in chronological order. Song of Solomon (#3) is next up for me and I am very excited to tackle this year!

I get to study Jazz as part of my English Literature PA, and I honestly cannot wait to dive deeper into it. I read it a year ago and I think I will be reading it for the rest of my life.

Toni Morrison is a literary GODDESS! And im not being hyperbolic in using that word. What she has ‘done’ with words and the influence on my life is beyond life. Forever grateful! So thank you for this! But Home was not her final novel. God Help The Child was. No favorite when it comes to Miss Morrison, although I have read Paradise, Home, Song of Solomon more often than the others. Considering I’ve read the others each more than 3 times. And will continue to do so. They guide me … 🙏🏿💜🕊

My favourite book of hers is Jazz. Loved it and found it compulsively readable.

Love your videos. I did not start reading fiction until I was 50 - I am 55 now. - I assumed that non-fiction was the path to learning. But fiction - really well done fiction - like Morison will teach you more about life and yourself than any self help book. Thank you for making this video.

I love all of her work but a book I rarely see people suggest is Paradise. It's absolutely brutal and has one of the coldest openings to a book I have ever read.

JAZZ is underrated. It’s a short work but surprisingly it’s the one audio book that is only available in an abridged version. SONG OF SOLOMON is her best work. The opening sentence comes full circle in the end. Much like PARADISE. More Toni Morrison videos please.

You need to be in the right headspace to read Morrison. They are heavy I haven't yet read Sula and Song of Solomon but so far my favorites are Paradise and The Bluest Eye

Sula is shorter and (comparatively) easier to read. But Beloved is life changing. Beloved not only opened me up to the world of Toni Morrison but the world of reading in general. But you have to commit to it

Definitely do the pitch video(s)!! I’ve never seen it discussed in detail but I recall seeing years ago that the Beloved trilogy is thematically based on The Divine Comedy. I’ve wondered about the connections between the novels, and I have my own ideas. I haven’t read Paradise yet unfortunately but I noticed a potential thread between Beloved and Jazz that no one on the Internet has commented on, and I plan to read Dante so I can determine any connections for myself Here’s my theory though, so spoiler warning if you’ve not read Beloved & Jazz I would say the character Wild in Jazz (Joe Trace’s supposed mother) might actually be Beloved herself? Meaning that Joe may have inherited Beloved’s mysticism, making his relationships with both Dorcas and Violet a type of enchantment… Reading Jazz as a magical realism completely changes how you may perceive characters and motives. I’m curious if there’s any other direct connections I’ll find in Paradise.

I’m strongly considering making it. Keep an eye out. I like this theory too. I’m on the lookout for some good essays about her work to help me think through parallels like the one you’re describing here
