@@garrettlundy3959 LMFAO! I just saw this. No, not at a nudist colony. It was in a coastal town on the pacific northwest. I would do free olive oil tastings at an artisan olive oil and balsamic vinegar shop. I'd generally pick a selection of unflavored and flavors oils, with balsamic pairings. My job was to get customers excited about the differences between a name brand olive oil and ours. Our product was significantly more expensive, but genuinely more delicious. Getting people from: "this this is a frivolous purchase" to "should I get the large or small bottle?" Was as simple as acknowledging that there was meaningful differences in product. I had to get really good at analyzing and rating olive oils. The job added like 450 calories a day to my diet, which was awesome cause I was on a bulk. It was a really fun job, but way too slow for my liking. I got bored about 3 months in.

Warren is a real piece of work. He cracks up his drinking buddies with what sounds like a story about employee discrimination on the basis of pregnancy; he berates a wine server about a shipment that has nothing to do with them or with their department; he criticizes their business model when mildly inconvenienced by the need to discuss his problem with someone else; he tries to send back a glass of wine for a free replacement but continue to drink it; he brushes off the price of the flight he wants in replacement, only to get hammered and then dispute having ordered it; and finally, he resumes complaining about his "corked," delivery of six bottles, becoming directly verbally abusive when the server finally treats him with overt skepticism. I'm not surprised by what looks like Warren's drinking problem, but it is new information.

for anyone wondering, “corked” wine doesn’t mean it HAS a cork; that’s not the issue cork can sometimes be damaged by certain cleaning processes and tainted by fungi/mold/bacteria, which then gives the wine a funky, almost wet cardboard sort of taste basically, it makes the wine gross 🫡 but it rarely happens, so it’s never an issue 6 bottles though? i can understand why warren would be upset! so what if it’s unlikely? you have to believe him! it’s definitely not an excuse to get 12 bottles in a month, no sir

"He doesn't know I'm kidding" sent me into a flashback 💀💀 I was a cashier/food runner at a fast food joint In highschool, I'm 14, chubby, shy, and just trying to get through my shift. While I'm carrying a tray of food a boomer in the lobby says "Wait young lady, that's for me" and "jokingly" lunges at the food. It was sudden, random and made my heart race suddenly having someone jerk their hands towards me. I didn't know how to react and kinda stared blankly trying to think nearing the end of a long shift and my brain is fried. Only realizing it was supposed to be a joke when he turned to some people around him loudly saying "She doesn't know I'm kidding! HHAHAHA" Such a weird thing to do to a worker and a literal teenager, arguably pre-teen.

Have you worked in customer service? The shit is too good for you not to have. I had a situation with a boomer who was angry that I couldn't personally get his dog food in. He accused me of not ordering it, and I had. We're a small business so a lot of the distributors favor the larger stores who make bulk orders. I told him that. He told me that I should have a better relationship with the distributors that way they would favor us more than the stores buying mass quantities like PetSmart. I told him that's not how it worked and he proceeded to berate me lmao

@@christiansanders1 I was that way until I got married and we had a child. Before then I was lax because it only affected me and I had time and money to spare. I can't let my wife and kid sit around for 15 minutes without ever being asked what we want to drink

@@Propane_Acccessories oh I would draw the line there too, even as an unmarried childless 23 year old. I work in service at a five star restaurant and I’ve worked at plenty of shitty, chaotic spots too so I just try to be understanding but regardless of anything 15 mins without greeting a guest is unacceptable.

iIm a sommelier (MCS lvl 2), and I wanted to cry when he asked for a buttery (California) Chardonnay. Yeah, i know, its my job, but i hate that ish, n this is the exact type of dude to order it. Taste is subjective, and if u like it, then by all means keep drinking it. But for me, if i have to drink Chardonnay, then its New Zealand Chardonnay all the way!

are wine bottles not supposed to have corks?
@christiansanders1
@christiansanders1 3 ай бұрын
Saying a wine is “corked” just means the cork is defective and has let too much oxygen into the bottle. It happens to about 10% of bottles and it ruins the color, smell, and flavor.

It means that the wine has reacted with the cork in the bottle and spoiled through oxidisation.
