Thanks to this video I finally conquered that left turn over the rock at the beginning, and the final boulder - I’d chickened out on doing them at least 20 times over 10 years, feels great to finally do them! I didn’t get a good line on that gnarly corner in the middle though, next time! Thanks again for breaking it all down - there are many videos of people just going through those sections, but they don’t really make it seem any easier!

Love the video. You've inspired me to give the boulder run another go. I haven't done it since Covid hit last year. I hadn't worked up the courage yet to roll off that boulder, I always took the bumpy path on the left which sucks. By the way, the music was a little too loud over your commentary, but it was still enjoyable to watch. 👍

Glad I've inspired you, don't feel pressured to do it if you don't feel it yet, there's many features I have appreciation for, but just ride around them still, and glad I have so I can keep riding. Thanks for doing this. I went to YouYangs for my first time a couple of days ago. I rode down trails from the Stockyard carpark. I think I might try the carpark at the bottom (Durham Rd carpark) next time and try Boulder amongst others. I've done the same - "sessioning" tracks - but I find I forget a lot of it so it takes a few times going down the track before I can piece it all together.

@@steveindorset Yeah Steve, I fitted a lighter rear cassette, took the tubes out made it tubeless with just valves and liquid, you can see what I did in my 6 month review vid for more details (If you don't mind the Cricket noises) and thanks again Steve 🙂

I love this kind of trail analysis. It's great when you have the time to look for the right line and as in 7:35 it sometimes can be the one you don't spot initially. I admit riders who can spot this simple line quickly. I guess this comes with a lot of experience. Apart from the analysis, this looks like a great trail to ride. And you won yourself a new subscriber!

Geezus and I tried this fully padded up with a full face helmet and an enduro bike and barely got through it, I had to walk the rock garden sections. Then I see these guys who are new to mountain biking doing a black diamond run on a cheap MTB wearing road helmets and jeans. Really goes to show it's the confidence and skill not the gear.

Yeah, they impressed me. I was surprised they did those sections, I guess if you want to be able to keep riding, you need to know your limits and work up to them one day, no shame in that, after all it's about getting out there and enjoying what you can, there's plenty of features I still ride around and think about and wonder, but I'm still riding 😉

Its faster to take the left path at the boulder if you are game enough to gap the rocks. Not recommended in the wet.
