I've been looking at getting a new 2024 Mercedes but I did some research on maintenance costs and I must say it's ridiculous! They told me $1000 per axel. I do all my own brakes so I mentioned I would do them myself. They countered that I'd need a laptop and special program to perform the work. Doesn't look like thats the case here

Yeah, where ever they told you that must be pocketing some of the money. Brakes are nowhere near that much for this vehicle. Then again it could be your area/state

There's a very simple procedure to release the electric parking brake before replacing the rear brake pads - you access the service menu through the steering wheel buttons. No need for a laptop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqmomqmDoL12ppY
