My suggestion would be hitting a climbing gym to learn to rig a setup. I've climbed a few illegal places, it doesn't take that long to rig a belay; ascenders and some slings will get you back up and if they catch you, you can always go down and bail. Just leave the rope and sundries. The loss of equipment costing you the same or less than bail with no record. Just the thoughts of an old societal dissident.

"It may have been "illegal" but that isn't entirely the fault of those who use graffiti. We have an alternative. I once visited Rapid City, SD and saw where the city allowed graffiti to be placed in an area downtown. It was allowed and encouraged. Trash cans, doors, pipes, brick walls, everything - it was legal and allowed. This idea worked. It kept graffiti from being put up in all other areas of the city. This should be a starting point for all towns and cities. Give these artists a place to share their art. " - from an artist's perpective.

I think the word "stupid" has lost its meaning. People say, "You can't fix stupid," but if that's true, then stupidity is just part of someone's nature, making them victims of it. So why not feel bad for them? If "stupid" means impulsive or unreflective, it *can* be fixed by thinking more carefully or slowly. Yet, we also call people "stupid" for thinking *too* slowly. Sorry for the rant, just had to get that off my chest.

I used to dabble in rooftops, when I was younger, but I stopped doing it, because my Spidey sense was tingling, and I kept thinking back to one train station roof I did. The section I was standing on was essentially two walls with paving slabs on top (so like a chamber inside) I kept playing it over and over, as if the slabs broke and I fell in between the walls. We're talking 3 stories high, as well. This was before smartphones, and not everyone had mobile phones back then (I certainly didn't have one) I would have been trapped until morning, likely. Also, I've had 2 friends fall. One broke his back, the other, his backpack broke his fall, and saved his back, but he messed his arm up a lot. This happened later, in both cases, but it's like what my gut was warning me about, it just happened to other people. Now I don't F with rooftop spots. I mean sometimes i think they're doable, when far safer, and I consider them. I still don't do them though. It's a risky enough game without throwing in another factor.

Tagging is not art. I tagged for a while in my early teens before I grew the f up - it's crayoning your parents walls with extra steps. From experience I know a £4 can of spray = £6000 bill to have 110 year old masonry on a listed building cleaned without damaging it and the cost was passed on the to tax payers. So taggers make life suck for everyone just so they can be narcissists. Real graf artists put their tag on their work, and put their work where it will be appreciated and enjoyed - not just spam their tag on everything in sight like a monkey throwing poop.

I used to do graffiti when I was about 15 in 1990’s Some of my stuff is still up. Been there for 32years because the location is too hard to get too to paint over or remove. Kind of like planting a tree, you can come back in 30years and look at it. It’s still there. My graffiti was full pieces. Not just tags. In the days of MR.E if ya know ya know.

@ all I can say to that is that rope access workers and other at-height workers can either self-rescue or call for help, with, again, rope access equipment.

@@youfosignhere I was living in LA and saw it the morning after, heading home from a rave. The story going around was, the police showed up as he was finishing, his assistant up top had to hide, and he decided to try and jump towards the embankment. The cops left him to die and when the sun came up someone saw him and called an ambulance. Hard to say what’s true, the story never really came to light. Dude was top dog in LA in 1997 for sure, nobody came close.

We used to have a concept called "a crime against the public." Every act like this is a decrease in the public's expectation in quality of life. Not a victimless crime, but a crime against society at large.

A "criminal" with no victim. You probably think people who smoke weed deserve to go to jail cause they are "criminals" too. A nonviolent crime with No victim should be handled with community service and probation. Not wasting thousands of tax dollars on jail space when a REAL criminal could take that bed.
@bunsonhoneydew9099Ай бұрын
@@zhdrums3872 nah, criminal. The public is the victim, having to look at this trash and paying the money to clean it up
@zhdrums3872Ай бұрын
@bunsonhoneydew9099 That's why I said probation and community service. Where they Always make you pay fines to cover the damages. Tell me how locking someone up in jail with grapists, murderers and violent criminals would help rehabilitate someone that's not guilty of Any of that stuff? Graffiti is Street culture and preserves History and is slowly becoming more accepted whether you like it or not. Youd rather see homeless people all over the street than some colorful walls? There's more important shit going on that Actually Affects our country other than some walls being painted. If you don't like it, don't look. Id rather our tax money be used on cleaning up our country (even if its graffiti) than being given to fund some countries war.
