I absolutely love the Griffey drill! I played in the Mariners Organization from 94-99 and had numerous conversations with Jr. about hitting and he’d say he just “ walks away” from his hand and his hands naturally goes into launch position. It was fun seeing that sweet swing in spring training!

These drills are pretty much all drills that I have seen before, but the way these guys explain and narrate them is phenomenal. You know its gold when they can talk about something you already know and you end up understanding it better.

@@ramotav honestly dont remember. My daughter was a senior then. I remember her going through a slump but I don't remember what drills I used to help her. She wound up batting over 500 because she got an award for it, but whether I incorporated this drill or not, I can't remember.

The first guys just swung on a tee and talked. Telling kids what to do only works so so in my experience. The third guy gave actual drills so the kids could see tangible results. Love that!!

Balance is key to everything... I used to give golf lessons and the first tip offered in this video is exactly how I would present golf swing theory with new clients. "How would you catch a medicine ball?"... get there and swing.

The best instructor there is the MRI of Hitting lol: the first one from Upfronting. He can pick your swing apart and put back together in a way that you would never imagine

We do a drill our coach taught us, where he ties a rope at waist height, and we have to swing the bat, but the bat has to remain in contact with the rope throughout the swing. It really helps to hit the ball with better elevation.

Get in the gym if they are of age. Best thing to do for power. Everything else is secondary.

One of the really good things to notice here is the big toe of that back foot is almost directly down into the ground, like a spike. This is usually a very good sign for your swing mechanics.

Really awesome stuff!! I do have to say the hardest thing to do in sport depends a lot on the athlete. Tony Gwyn probably found hitting a baseball a whole lot easier than he would trying to survive an NFL pass rush. It's just a pet peeve of mine. Every sport has its extreme difficulties.
