True. Although that is only a security by obscurity situation. The java based operating system on these old phones has probably more holes in it than swiss cheese :D

Those leaks happened to my Sony Ericssons too. I think, and hope, it's just some form of adhesive used in some of the batteries.

Might be. The phone still works to this day so I don't think the liquid is very corrosive or otherwise harmfull to the phone. Still strange though. I have never seen something like that happen to another phone.
