Tantai Jin's character development is by far my favorite!! I has gone from being emotionless and not knowing love to falling in love with Li Susu. She taught him to love, to be happy, she gave him experiences that can never be replaced. She gave him core memories! Tantai Jin loved Li Susu so much he searched for her for 500 years! Leaving behind his kingdom that they built together... This is truly beautiful and I am so happy they get to have each other in their next life. The ending of this episode is perfect and very satisfying. However, I can’t get over how well done the segment where Susu comes to Tantai Jin’s rescue is. The emotion displayed in this scene was marvelous and heart wrenching (as well as the music). The acting was superb, and it melts your heart when Susu bends down and places a consoling hand on Tantai Jin’s cheek after he was tortured, and the way he looks at her - it just makes you break out in tears. He suffered so much within all his lifetimes, and you can clearly see he was at his breaking point when she came to his rescue - and yet, her presence alone gave him renewed strength to endure further torment. I felt that this scene in particular was possibly the best scene in the series, because everyone present could clearly see the love that they had for one another. I adore their love story - even though it’s full of pain and sorrow, because they both grow so much because of it. Their painful love ultimately becomes resolute and impenetrable by the very end.

I've always understood Li Susu's actions and motivations, even if it was sad to see Tantai Jin hurt. For all the LSS haters who were like "how come she can't just trust him?" even though she had already tried that before and failed (how come everyone forgets this??), plus she was trying to prevent a future she had already witnessed, I hope this satisfies them. She hates the Devil God but loves Tantai Jin. Now that she believes it's not possible for him to become what she fears and he knows the complete truth, she can love him fully and be open with him.

Good or evil has nothing to do with being an immortal or devil. It's up to your heart. I'm happy this has been clarified. Earlier, in the course of her mission, what caused many misunderstandings between Li Susu and Tantai Jin was that Susu thought that because he was destined to be Devil god, he was evil but she didn't know that it's all about the heart. As Ye Xi Wu, I don't think her feelings for Jin were true but by the love she gave him, Tantai Jin was willing to be a good person. Though born a devil fetus, his heart chose to do good because of Susu's love yet he was betrayed and backstabbed many times. He had to feel pain and suffer because he was born a devil as though there were no other options to prevent him from taking the evil path. I'm glad that finally, he's had a breakthrough and he can accept himself for who he is but with the heart, choose a right path.
