Amira is Stunning. Of course there is nothing like the bag pipes at the beginning. I love bag pipes. Must be my Scottish heritage. The was just a magnificent performance.

@@youmaderoskoe , hi Roskoe! Great reaction to one of the most beautiful and recognizable Christian songs of all time! There is a great story behind the writing of that song and the life of its author John Newton, but I won't belabor it here. Please go back to Amira's beginning and react to her Holland's Got Talent audition of "O Mio Babbino Caro" in 2013 at age nine. Be sure to choose the one with English subtitles though, lol! It will honestly leave you speechless!

Great reaction! Amira is a world-class super soprano. In this video she beautifully projects the very high note Eb6, which at the age of 13 is absolutely paranormal. And yes, she can masterfully sing any song. But she prefers not to sing pop. She sings classical, semi-classical, crossover, gospel, musical and great movie soundtracks. She has sung so far in 9 different languages: English, Dutch, Spanish, German, Afrikaners, Italian, French, Latin, and Swedish. Amira is music.

She is from Holland so a lot of what we are reading is in Dutch. The w in her name sounds like a V. She is amazing and uses what she earns to help others.

In the UK the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards had a number one hit with Amazing Grace on the bagpipes, back in 1972. There has always been a link ever since. The Classics is Groot were a series of concerts held in South Africa, Amira appeared in four of them before the pandemic struck. Groot is africaans for Great. Her mother's family come from South Africa, and that is where she lives now, she is Dutch by birth. 13 y o hear. You can go earlier, and be wowed by the precocious talents of a very small girl, or try her more recent performance's with maturing vocals. - she did two other songs at this concert, Nessun Dorma, and The Flower Duet with Corlea Botha. - two opera arias, but exquisitely sung.

Roskoe: Try "Villighaagen." Groot is Afrikaans for Great. Amira is 19 now and for some years has lived in South Africa. You might like "I'll Walk With God" in duet with Lukhanyo Moyake.
