I many years ago had the joy of watching 180 pipers play this at the Edinburgh Tattoo, marching and playing on the castle esplanade at dusk. Beautiful and breathtaking BUT this version by this young teenager, who happens to have the most beautiful voice on the planet, beats even that. I also have many recordings of Maria Callas, Joan Sutherland, Tiri Te Kanawa and other great opera singers but in my personal opinion they all come second to this girl in quality of tone.

I was lucky enough to see the tattoo in 2013, I can remember sitting there on the bench with a plastic coverall on, it was cold and drizzling and thinking what on earth am I doing here, this is going to be so boring. How wrong I was it was wonderful, the pipes so emotional. I think the best thing I've ever seen.

This girl is blessed with a voice.... so pure. She does not do big effort to reach the difficult notes (it looks as if Amira is just talking to the public) and that, in my view, is the big key which makes it so pure, beautiful and intens. I would like to give you a suggestion to watch: "Amira, the making of a soprano": a beautiful documentairy about "the way" Amira and her family has "travelled" from 2013 till 2018. That is quite something, to say the least. She is such a nice person.... and the only thing she was looking for in 2013: just getting a chance to sing one song on Dutch television; nothing more than that.... It turned out to be a enormous roller coaster... including emigration from the Netherlands to South Africa (where her mother is from).

Nephi, your reactions to Amira's performances are spot on. However you should be careful, Amira 's voice is addicting. You might find yourself wanting to listen to her everyday like many of her followers. You're right her voice is heavenly. I have only been following Amira for only a year now and she has totally encapsulated me. Another song you should react to is Nella Fantasia performed in So Africa in 2016 when she was 12. Total perfection!!!!

Everything about this incredibly moving performance was absolutely perfect, from the orchestra the choir the pipes and of course Amira , it was SPECTACULAR, I have listened to this performance many many times and I allways shed a few tears , to think Amira taught herself to sing by listening to music on KZbin and winning HGT at 9 years old in 2013 to the international little super star she is now and for what has still to come, the sky is the limit and beyond, Nephi your reaction was just like mine the first time I seen this performance, simply beautiful wooow! ! ! 😀😀😀

Did you now that Amira won HGT. Check out her first audition, she got singing because her brother was good playing the violin and she wanted to do something to. She looked at ytube fund a song en started singen, never 1 singing lesson. We in the Netherlands are very proud of Amira

The song it self is a beautiful song. But she has brought the best version of the song I ever heard. In a world like this, some people don't see god in anything. The most think god has abandoned us. But she is one of the gifts of god him self. Her voice is like an angel. And even when i see things on the darker side, she brings a glimpse of light. Nephi Acaling Just the way you talk about Amira's voice I can tell you really understand the dynamics of what makes for a truly beautiful sound. The reason I suggested the performance of Nella Fantasia is because she demonstrated a new and finer level of control of all aspects her voice, tone, vibrato, etc. This performance took place the year before Amazing Grace and just 4 months after O Sole Mio. When you hear the tone and texture of her voice you will understand how incredible tho performance is. She was just 12 years old at the time and though this performance isn't as dramatic as many of her others I think it will rock you.

Nephi: As posted elsewhere -- thought you might appreciate this....... This is just simply stunningly and astoundingly beautiful. I cannot stop the goosebumps and the chills........ It has been theorized before that Amira sounds even better when she can perform in concert with a substantial string section, as she does here, because of the various complimentary and augmenting asymmetrical wave forms which may then be at play in what we hear, simply (and undetectably) compounding the beauty of the composite sound. In any case, I had something here for you, which I thought you might like. I think you may find that these lines, below, were written to describe Amira, even though William Byrd didn’t know it, and even though they were written roughly 450 years ago. Depending on particular individual religious beliefs, some may choose to disagree with William’s conclusions at the end, but I think most of those who like to hear Amira sing would feel that many of these points define her, and especially points number six and number seven. Mind that the spelling and the grammar are just as old as the list itself.  See what you think.  Reasons for persuading everyone to learne to sing: ! ! briefly set down by William Byrd (1542-1623) First it is a knowledge easely taught, and quickly learned where there is a good Master, and an apt Scoller. 2. The exercise of singing is delightful to Nature & good to preserve the health of Man. 3. It doth strengthen all the parts of the brest, and doth open the pipes. 4. It is a singular good remedie for a stuttering & stammering in the speech. 5. It is the best means to procure a perfect pronounciation & to make a good Orator. 6. It is the onely way to know where Nature has bestowed the benefit of a good voyce: which gift is so rare, as there is not one among a thousand, that hath it: and in many, that excellent gift is lost, because they want Art to expresse Nature. 7. The better the voyce is, the meeter it is to honour and serve God there-with: and the voyce of man is chiefly to be employed to that ende. omnis spiritus laudet Dominum. Since singing is so good a thing I wish all men would learne to sing One other thing: Regarding Amira's voice and the possibly augmenting 'squillo' of the strings -- did you notice that on the final phrase, when all of the orchestra cuts out, two or three violins sustain a single high note, and then Amira comes in softly and quietly, I believe exactly one octave below them, so with the same harmonic under and overtones for both? Maybe it's just me, but I think this (and the following notes) makes her final phrase sound even more beautiful. If so, a master touch, on the part of the arranger and orchestrator(s).

You ask for any other Amira video's. Have a look at her wonderful version of Your Love, that is the song version of the Ennio Morricone theme to the film "Once Upon A Time In The West", which starred Henry Fonda. Charlie Bronson and Claudia Cardinale. There is also another version without words but using the human voice as a musical instrument that is worth a look at. By a young teenager called Patricia Janeckova (i think she was about 13/14 at the time. She is more of a conventional opera singer and has, 5 years on, already carved out a great opera career.

It's not a Russian song; it's from the opera "Rusalka" by Anton Dvorak. And it's a performance that will likely never be equalled. She sang it one full tone above the regular key. I'm no crybaby, but I must confess that she got me crying like one ! This song, as the "Flowers of the Forest" has a lot of meaning for me, as a grandson of WWII partisans in Belgium... And hearing her sing this that way, with not only respect but such a conviction, it really moved me too... Another one of her song's repertoire I really find that amazing is the sweeding song from the movie "As in heavens" called "Gabriella's Sang" (Gabriella's song in english) that she sings in a flawless swedish, and also with such a conviction and meaning that ic can't do nothing else than pull at your heartstrigs ! And knowing what she does for the poor black children of the south african townships, donating half her concert's and recording's earnings to build playgrounds for schools in townships, tells a lot on the kind of person she really is ! (she said she could'nt enjoy the money when so much poor children had not even a place to go play, when she had about three playgrounds in each cities in her native Netherlands... ) AMAZING !

Nephi, I have contacted you on a few occasions requesting more Amira reactions. If I’m not mistaken, it’s been over TWO years since your last reaction to this amazing young Soprano. I find this rather strange & confusing, as your previous reactions showed us how much admiration & praise you had for Amira. I liked your style in previous reactions & I am subscribed to your Chanel & would appreciate you fitting in a few more of Amira’s appearances such as the powerful performance of Nessun Dorma ( the stage production) or Sound of Music medley at the age of 15 , late in 2019 where she demonstrates her immense ability & her growing maturity in both herself & her Angelic voice.

Bert Baur . You’re quite right.. Amira IS too good to beg for it. I feel that the dramatics that some reactors show is somewhat superficial . Maybe I’m too sceptical, but there are a few reactors who appear “gobsmacked” on their first reaction, without any follow up reactions. I wouldn’t expect it to be immediate, but months on end seems rather strange. Anyway, we love Amira, & they’re the ones missing out.

@@graemeblackburn7511 I suspect a lot of them are finding that the copyright on Amira's performances since 2017 is now being enforced much more than used to be the case. If you click on "See more" in the heading of her performance since then, you will see that many of them are "Licenced by UMG" - which stands for "Universal Music Group"; UMG has an agreement with KZbin; so any earnings that the reactor might make are automatically assigned to UMG, who pass a % on to whoever owns the copyright; so the reactors go for performers who have not reached the level of having their work copyrighted. Amira needs to own her copyright herself, if she is going to make any real money out of her singing; the recent streaming concert was a small step in that direction, but she has to go further yet.
