Bruce Banner and the Hulk are like Eddy Brock and Venom, except it is less of a symbiotic bond and more of an actual parasite leaching off of its host instead of co-existing with it. The Hulk is a result of gamma radiation, and Bruce Banner essentially being a lab rat before he was even born because his father experimented on himself, giving Bruce tainted DNA in a sense. The fact that Bruce was experimented on frequently as a child and the trauma causing him to push back those memories was an amazing plot twist that made the Hulk a manifestation of those memories trying to get Bruce to remember. If you remember, Bruce and the Hulk are completely different people at the start-middle of the movie, and only end up becoming a single person at the end of the movie, when he accepts that he cannot have a relationship with his father. The movie had better writing, and the CGI was good for its time. You also have to remember that they used pure CGI, no practical effects. Stan Lee himself stated that he liked that movie more because it pleased people who enjoyed a good story, rather than people who were only interested in the eye candy.

Plus, Hulk 2003 CGI easily beat Hulk 2008 CGI and some recent Hulk MCU CGI. In that movie Hulk looks much, MUCH more solid and the way the scenario reacts to him is great, because the team did much of this in practical ways. The movement convices much more and it looks super real in daytime, unlike Hulk 2008 which looks like some emo shredded video-game character.

2008 Hulk was funny to play even if you had nothing to do, just run and SMASH. New Hulk is like a green strongman walking around the city, nothing more. Marvel, give us a remake for the old 2008 Hulk, it would be the best Marvel game in the indistry by far.
