This movie should have focused more on the sketchy old dude. Clearly he knew about the crawlers down in the cave and the old mine. The dog probably smelled the crawlers explaining why it freaked out and ran.

The first one was actually really good and im not big on all female cast movies,, but that was a brilliant film start to finish,, tbe second one was just to explain what happened to the unanswered of the first which wasnt needed.

I really ADORE The Descent. I like this movie for what it tried to be. I loved the female cop character. I liked that they found Juno still alive because it made sense, she was vicious and I could see her surviving the blow to her leg. I just don’t like the idea of the old guy who obviously knew the creatures were down there. Didn’t seem necessary. But I still really liked the film.

@@justlive2809 it just wasn’t necessary really, if you wanna be nitpicky the ending of the first one doesn’t match up with the start of this one, there’s no way Sarah would be taken back down into the cave so soon after coming out, they’d never send 2 unskilled police officers caving, the lighting is literally impossible, & much more, it’s just a bit of a let down after the first movie being so good

Really enjoy your reactions 😅 The Descent is one of my favourite horror films but this sequel (even though it's worth a watch) is just so ridiculous😂 given that the og ending, Sarah didn't even get out of the cave and that there's no way two untrained police officers would be sent down there, nor would Sarah be sent back down immediately imo. Lastly, I know Juno was tough, but there was no way she was surviving at the end of the last movie!!! There was far too may crawlers for her to fend them off, and it's not even like she stayed quiet and hid from them all, because we heard her screaming for a fair few seconds whilst Sarah was running away. Some things should be left alone

you want my real theory Ed hits the girl because he fears he is a suspect . (in the end ) the girl that makes it out is a cop she and him met the cop girl would have told the reporters at the beginning what really goes on in the caves and local authorities what had happened so he hitts her no suspects left not to mention the second rescue team are dead she is the only one that makes it out. again her being a cop makes perfect sense to me- no more witnesses left the end . (for him no more witnesses left after he gets her killed ) However he is probably a psychopath or sociopath non the less .

As a standalone and without seeing the first one, the sequel is decent. The issue is that the movie suffer been around this time. Specially the ending were the hero dies. Making all the movie just pointless... It was almost trying to just close the end looses with Sarah and Juno. While the original ending of the first worked well and showing us that both girls were trap inside the cave and not having any chance to survive. Even the US ending, with Sarah surviving was a decent ending. So, Sarah been back into the cave, Juno survive, the human who was feeding them, makes this sequel just entertaining product only.
