My favorite gadget is a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer which I put in the refrigerator freezer when we start packing. We usually put all our frozen food in a cooler until the RV fridge is cold enough. When the freezer is below 32 degrees, we start loading it with the frozen TV dinners and move the temperature sensor from the freezer to the refrigerator. When the temperature drops below 40 degrees we put the bottled water, soda, milk and other items in. Since our RV refrigerator automatically switches from gas to electric depending where we are, we monitor the temperature to keep it between 34 to 39 degrees. Since gas and electric don't maintain exactly the same temperature we often need to adjust the refrigerator up or down slightly to keep things from freezing or getting too warm. A wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer with a remote sensor only costs about 12 dollars and we mount it next to the refrigerator. We also have a second one set up to read the temperature inside and outside of our travel trailer. My next favorite items are two small 1500watt cube electric heaters with thermostats. If it is cold and we are somewhere that supplies an electric hookup, these little cube heaters keep the 32 foot travel trailer toasty warm without using propane from our tanks. The heaters are so small they will store anywhere. We also have a couple small round 12 inch fans to use in warmer weather without running the air conditioner. They also store away in a small space.

Here is a fix for your tire pressure that changes with temperature. Put a dab of Vaseline on each of the fill tube ends and then put the cap back on. You will not lose tire pressure when the temperature changes, ever again.

Love the tips, love the gadgets. For tools, I switched over to the Black & Decker Matrix. Gives me all the power tools I need for any RV maintenance or repair job. I am also in 2024 going to be switching over to the Milwaukee Packout for storage containers for my cargo bays. Both of these changes were big game changers for me and really utilized my space management. Keep up the great work and keep it between the lines, Dan & Jan

1st: Thank you for your service. Some great ideas here. Love the step pads and the bath organizers. I noticed the reflectex in your cabinet. I installed some in my pantry cabinet as it receives the most sunlight and causes the inside to get rather warm. No longer a problem. I don’t remember where I got this idea but I bet it was from you guys. Happy travels to my favorite bloggers.

Hey guys…Just an FYI… your EFS fuel card works in Canada Petro Canada card lock… I saw your trip to Newfoundland and you mentioned that your card wouldn’t work in Canada… Also…they have an app for the truck stations just like Open Road….love that card..👍

That is good to know! At the time they did not have a contract with them. We plan on returning to Canada eventually so it will help with planning.

Hey ya'll, great tips. The first aid card should be installed in every RV by the manufacturer. As ya'll stated, useless unless needed, then it's priceless. Thanks for coming up with that, Stacy. Can't wait to see ya'll on the road again. Ya'll have a terrific Thanksgiving. God bless ya'll and stay safe on your travels.

Just had an option to look at your site after hearing so much about you guys from Richard and Stephanie Araujo. The emergency card is a great idea. I was a firefighter for 20 years and you would be surprised how many people didn't know or couldn't remember their address in an emergency. Another very valuable addition to a safety program especially in remote areas where there is no cell service or when on a long hike away from main roads is a pocket size Eperb. A small satellite monitored personal locator beacon. I carry one everywhere I go when I'm not sure that cell coverage will work. Check onto it. Can save a life.

I may see you on the road this year, 'cause I just started my full time journey with my bride of 22 years last Friday. This is the reason I'm seeing this video on Wednesday because I was driving all day Sunday. As far as your gadgets go I've got 3 of them already, the water filter, the TPMS (although a different brand) and one more that I forgot (yes I'm getting old). Anyway if you're in Tampa this year I might see you there, I'll be in the area all week and at the fair grounds on Saturday night. Keep the good stuff coming guys. EDIT: the thing I forgot is the Open Roads fuel card. I've forgotten all of my login information so I paid a little more for fuel but I'll get that worked out soon I'm way too cheap not to.

I love the open roads card suggestion. Unfortunately, I use gas. What I did to help save money for gas is get a AAA Visa card. I get 5% cash back on gas and 1% back on 99% of other purchases. I don't carry a balance so their interest rate isn't a factor for me. Every penny helps. Another great video! Thanks.
@todayissomeday Жыл бұрын
I agree every penny does help! There are some other gas options. This blog might help with gas savings: todayissomeday.net/blog/gas-apps

We stumbled on the upside app because we have a gasser, too. We save on gas on average 5 cents per gallon. We also are collecting all of the gas apps and combine the savings.

Always love your videos. Lot of great gadgets. I do have a couple of questions. Do you have to take your weather station off the roof on travel days or is it permanently mounted? Also I saw reflectix in your cabinets. Does that help with condensation in the winter?

Yes, I remove the weather station on move days. It has a quick pull pin, easy, peasy. We have never had a condensation issue or heard of anyone that has.

Why is the magnet shade on your windshield "black." Black absorbs the suns heat. Why isn't it better if it were white or reflective. Put your hand on a black car and then on a white car in the summer sunshine. Don
