Despite the cubes being so bad back in the day, many speedcubers like Feliks still got immpressive times which most cubers today struggle with while using better cubes. This just shows their insane skill levels.

Nice concept ! I tried the exact opposite : did my last cubing competition 10 years ago and wanted to see how the hardware is today. The result : it's great but too fast for me and it was very difficult to get decent solves My level dropped a lot but somehow I still know all OLL and PLL years later

Seeing that GuHong with absolutely chewed up stickers made me realise that as much as I like the stickerless cubes these days Restickering cubes was so fun, the satisfaction of restoring your cube to looking and feeling good as new is priceless EDIT: Also seeing Type F II brought back the memories, it was THE cube for sooo long

I didn't realise that was the case, I think I liked the feeling of the F II but ended up switching to an Alpha I just had a look at Feliks' original 9.21 WR from January 2010 but I couldn't tell what cube it was

I started in like 2009 with a rubiks branded cube and then in like 2013 got a cyclone boys 3x3 and I want to say a guanlong but I dont think those came out until 2015 crazy that its been that long. I remember sanding and lubing that old rubiks branded cube trying anything I could to make it better.
