Dude, its like a Garden of Eden. 3:40 there's birds, squirrels, deer and humans all together no less than 5 feet away from each other with absolutely nothing but peace. If only the world could be this way.

After having a long, stressful, and anger-filled day, this was truly a light in the dark for me. It just seems so... peaceful. I've always wanted to live in a world where humans and nature can see each other as equals, and while most of the world isn't like that, you have accomplished something almost unheard of. It truly is inspiring.

I love how innocent and gentle they are....... I've always called them "earth faires"
@PelorianPages7 жыл бұрын
Ha! Um, I mean, yes! Very gentle, most of the time. I have to laugh, though, because they are also very willful, and they regularly communicate their place in the herd by clomping another deer on the head or back with a hard hoof. The other day I saw a coyote near where one deer's fawn likes to hang out. The mother deer, Susie I call her, was standing at attention when I turned from looking at the coyote and saw her just outside my office window. In a second she tore off across the brush straight towards the coyote. The coyote turned and ran. Susie chased him for about 50 yards and then just stopped, watching him run a distance, and then, looking back, slowly slink away. It surprised us to first see that, but they can be fierce from time to time. We are always careful around them, because if we make a sudden unexpected move, they will usually jump up in alert. You don't want them digging a hoof into your foot by mistake as they try to quickly jump away. But still, you are right, most of the time they are astoundingly calm - almost like yogis in active meditation.

My sister and I were walking our dog once, and we passed by this house where the baby deer was just laying in the garden. We were both surprised, but we didn’t want to scare it, so we kept walking. However, the dear got up and came after us, so we stopped. We didn’t want our dog getting excited and freaking the deer out, so my sister picked her (the dog) up. The deer then came up and started sniffing me, and I was afraid it might bite me. Meanwhile, our dog was whining and crying like never before in my sister’s arms. Soon, another person started coming our way down the sidewalk, and the deer hopped away. I hope it was able to find it’s mother.

Nice story! I wouldn't worry too much about the baby deer. They are left alone for hours by their mothers. It is curious that she was interested in you, but one thing we've seen is that all the deer are unique individuals - some adventurous, some not so much!
