So incredibly precious! You're so blessed to be able to see newborn babies up close. I just hope they don't lose fear of other humans. I know you have a special relationship with all your deer, so hopefully momma can instill in them to not trust other humans. I've been watching you for years and always look forward to your videos and the incredible bond you have. xoxo

All the deer are different in their behavior, but it is mostly only the older deer who have gained a lot of experience who allow us to befriend them. Even these fawns, unafraid of us for a while, probably because they didn't get any fear signals from Susie, will soon be like most of the deer, following the cues of the elders, and only trusting "approved" humans. We've seen this a lot where our friendly deer will run off into the woods when a stranger arrives, unless they sense the stranger means them no harm. They are masters at body language. Even the deer we know well will jump back in alarm if we suddenly do something unexpected. Deer have survived for millennia by understanding their environments. Their sense of smell is a superpower, and given that they communicate within the herd by sending chemical signals in the air, I would not be surprised if they can actual smell a "good" human from a "bad" human.

This is why I can't wait for this years fawns! While loving my whitetail Zoe & her current family..I just missed her Rascal and Luna being born on the morning of 04 June 22..Momma extended "pre labor" till Saturday, I met the little ones @ feeding that night @ 1130 PM.. when she brought me to them..I sat down, and she called low & soft..like munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, they arose.. Magical moment!

@@soarornor Well Rascal is out being a buck, Luna is nanny doe with her older sister, Matriarch Zoe & her 2yr old Daisy both had twins, 4 total, in Zoe's nursery/training grounds..then Zoe handed them off to Daisy..who's been a great first time Momma! Ozzy, little Fireball, Austin & Wildflower..what a squad! Ozzy is the "squad leader" and sadly we lost Wildflower to a traffic incident.. sadly it happens. Vehicles and deer don't mix, (just like bicyclists in traffic, the odds aren't great till best discretion and judgment have formed.) Now my buds are learning their extended family and filling in the void that Matriarch Zoe has carved out for then, as they develop a winter territory.. They sure are something quite beyond what we were taught and assumed. Within the fullness of time, I have a very insightful educational project to complete regarding the development, life and ways of the whitetail deer..I've got a LOT of notes and video/stills to compile, review, & pull together into a product..and share! Wishing you and your's a Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

Oh, I have just looked at your info under: About, "abnormal normality when normally abnormal", What a Perfect Miracle. Even though, I have seen you Interact with these same Deer Without Babies. When these Deer are in the yard, they seek you out. You are the Person they come to visit. It's the same as my wonderful Black & Yellow Lab's that have been with us for 12 years. What makes this introduction a Perfect Miracle: For a Wild deer with 2 Newborns, that She will Die to protect, is bringing them too You. Sharing Her Proud Moment as a Mother with the Human Woman she Loves and has complete Trust in You, Letting the Babies Nuzzle with You. I have even seen these Deer, Put themselves Between You and a perceived Threat in the Bush Line you were walking too. The Deer were Vocal warning you of a danger, that is invisible to you. One Deer even started stomping through the entire area of concern. What a Gift! Thanks for sharing this video. Bob jackson, Papillion Nebraska

Black-Tailed deer are with no doubt the best deer for companionship with humans. For the first 34 seconds into the vid Susie has both eyes & ears focused on Marlis which is just protective instinct. At 0:35 susie is relaxing her guard & allows one of the fawns to close distance towards Marlis. Susie not only has complete trust in Marlis but has obviously fully accepted Marlis into her herd which is an honor based in ABSOLUTE trust!!! Black-Tailed deer, don't live life without them! Below, hilarious vid sure to make one chuckle! kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2Saipt7g7hmq8U

In the video, the woman speaks both English and German with the two fawns. She constantly switches back and forth between English and German. Im Video spricht die Frau mit den beiden Rehkitzen sowohl Englisch als auch Deutsch. Sie wechselt ständig zwischen Englisch und Deutsch hin und her.

This video and one I just watched before was the first time I realized that your location is not in the middle of nowhere like I had assumed. I would imagine that there would be more car noises from the road than you’d prefer. The music takes care of that and brings beauty as well.

You don't really want to be talking loudly around the new fawns. Loud noises freak them out. Notice how one fawn ducked down as if to hide when a truck break sounded near by?
@Weeeewriter2 жыл бұрын
@@PelorianPages Animals know when someone is bad or good, it's all about energies for them. If the deer would have felt you were bad, there's no way she would have allowed you near her fawns. I am not worried about that.

No they wont. That`s just a myth.
@PelorianPages2 жыл бұрын
Generally that's very good advise. Not because the mother will reject the fawn. The does are more intelligent than that. It's more that you don't want to disturb new fawns when the mother is not around. That just stresses them out. In our case, as others have noted, these deer are our neighborhood deer, and we've known Susie, the mother, since she was born. Susie likely smells Marlis' on the fawns and thinks, "Ah, that's that nice Marlis."
