Young Drivers Day - Devon Austin 7 Club

We visited the young drivers day organised by the Devon Austin 7 Club and hosted by Re Fuel near Cullompton in Devon (www.re-fuel.co.uk/)
The day was organised to get youngsters involved with Austin 7's as the club recognises that without new owners coming through these cars will not have homes. The general idea of the day was to get non Austin 7 owners involved with the cars and even driving them. The idea to let anyone have a go and drive an Austin 7 was inspired as for some youngsters it was their first opportunity to drive a car.
We are sure that many seeds will have been sown on this great day and there will be a few more Austin 7 in the future thanks to this and many other days organised with youngsters in mind.

I think that is a brilliant idea, something we should do in Sussex! Every older owner must have a relative or friend that is younger and to get them interested & driving may get them hooked... we have to do something! Looked a great day!

It is a fantastic idea. The enthusiasm that the youngsters showed for pre war cars was amazing. They are more interesting and accessible to own than a lot of people think.
