As a Brit, I had never heard of this poet untli the Vicar read @Young Fellow My Lad' at the remembrance service. It moved my wife and I to tears. As you this is not a poet normally credited here, Auden and Owen being the most common go-to war poets. This is brilliant and will return to it often having now discovered it.

I found this video from Googling the term "young fellah-my-lad," which I saw used in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.

My father who was born in 1945 used to read this to me when I was a child. I’m 36 now with a son of my own, my dad died in 2014. His father fought In ww2, my grandad. This is one of the most emotional poems, and one with a personal connection for me. I hope we never have to send our sons to war again, but it is a real possibility with the state of the world. Thank you for this video
