I recall reading about Steve Alford in HS back then and saw highlights of Alford's team playing Kemp's team in the Indiana finals - KEMP was unstoppable and was same size as a senior in HS as he was as a pro!!! MONSTER FA SHO.

I think it was Lakers great James Worthy said in a interview one time, when asked who he would rather guard, Michell Jordan, or Larry Bird, without hesitation he said; "Jordan." I enjoyed your reaction to Larry bird. Im a 67 yr old woman , Imagine watching these greats live saturdays on tv at the age of 15. I like Larry but my goat is Wilt Chamberlain. When they have to change college and pro rules to slow you down that means your the BEST . My top 5 : #1wilt,#2 larry, #3bill Russell, #4 pistol pete marovich ( fab. ball skills) #5 magic Johnson. Most wont agree but i got to watch them live setting records, the best time to be watching basketball, wish you could have watched with me, it was like watching war on the courts, you never knew who'd win, it was the best. As a side my dad boxed in marines and was champion lightweight in his division , having said that the BEST boxer was Muhammad Ali imho and he was pretty!😁💖 Keep the vids coming .👍

Mark McGuire always ducked Bird as well when they played Boston . Mark was always convienantly injured or sick before the game . They called it the Bird flu !

I think Axeman was told by Bird to fake an injury so he can face Kemp. Kemp got an important lesson dealt to him that day. Sure you can be great in college ball and make a name for yourself but once you reach the nba you have to strive to improve your game as there is always gonna be someone a little better. He showed by example that kemp still had much to learn and who better than the local legend. Bird was probably hoping to do this for his bro but since his bro didn't make it then he would show kemp instead what he needed to do to be the best.
