One of most important aspects of the Silver Fox's esthetics is mixing the classic with the new. Alot of those guys swag is like that Jay-z line off of "30 Something" where he says, "I'm young enough to know the right car to buy, Yet grown enough not to put rims on it." Most of those guys may have grey hair, however, they're not some 70 year old man trying to be young. Most of those guys are middle to late 50's or early to middle 60's at best. I used to work with a Silver Fox brother back in the 90's way before that term was used like it is now. His style was similar to how Anthony Hamilton dress with the fly fedoras and ostrich skin boot game. This guy was easily early 60's and he still had that pretty boy swag from his youth. He was ex military and a golden glove boxer and was still is very good shape. The young girls at work used to whisper about that brother everytime he stepped on the scene. And he wasn't stingy with his money when it came to entertaining the ladies. This man was retired from the military, the post office and was working part time at Fed Ex because he liked to hit the casinos up after work. Like Lil Wayne said, "It ain't tricking if you got it!!" Silver Fox phenomenon is due in large part to the wit and the conversation. Old dudes know a little bit about a lot of things and their give-a-damn filter is tattered and worn, freeing them up in their speech. They can speak their minds with assurance that nobody will be able to say boo about it. If they do? The old dudes aren't fazed. So much of their confidence is bundled in with age and experience. I daresay that's the key magnetism that draws women in on the instinctual level. Someone like me, young with no experience, can't fake an aged confidence like that. It's like a patina. We have to cultivate our own. Before we know it, we'll be those old dudes, patinated from our own experience. All that to say, do take what you can glean from the old gentlemen. Definitely learn your wardrobe and know how you best smell. It's a seemingly small but critical step in a man's maturation.
