Netflix - we need more! It’s hard to say goodbye. Edvin choking up at the end had me choking up as well. Thank you to the cast, to everything involved for creating a series that touched hearts differently than most series do. For me The Royals has been a very different experience watching it. OMG me too! I truly have an aching, broken heart full of ecstasy and happiness. I love these characters and these humans not just individually but as a group. I’m so grateful to Netflix but Netflix could have given them so much more….The airtime Young Royals deserves. All in all, only 18 short episodes. I’m older, late 50’s. The closest movie YR reminds me of as far as my personal lifelong attachment goes is Somewhere in Time, 1980, with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. There is a fan club to this day that spends a weekend a year at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, where the movie was filmed. I hope Netflix knows the masterpiece it allowed Lisa and crew to be created. This series is DEEP, not surface level like most Netflix creations. It’s not Teen. Netflix has locked in loyalty. They own the right to Young Royals, the name and story. I hope they don’t lock it away because it’s a masterpiece. It is what cinema should be. It moved us, stirred emotions and our thinking brain.

I've always known "Young Royals". I am chronically online so I knew the show, I knew specifically only Edvin and Omar. In fact, I tried watching the 1st episode back in 2021 but I stopped it after ten minutes cause it felt like it wasn't my cup of tea. During these years, I've been exposed to the show's content but I really didn't think much of it. This is why I know the invisible string theory is real. The end of 2023 came, and with it came the worst period of my life: I've been struggling with depression for a very long time; I was in a long term relationship with a person who was very toxic, very mean to me but I loved him... At the end of 2023 I found out he cheated on me, and I know it sounds like not that big of a deal but things happened that I won't write here. I fell into a rabbit hole, I was literally a mess. It was a very difficul time for me. During this time (late february 2024), I was looking for something to feel alive again, to feel something that wasn't pain and suffering. I decided to give Young Royals a second chance, and my life changed with this decision. This story moved me so deeply, in a way I cannot describe with words. I felt understood. Edvin's portrayal of fear, anger, sadness, desperation was so moving to me I still cry when I watch him. I know I wouldn't have appreciated this show if I watched it before all the bad things happened to me. This is why I know everything happens for a reason. Simon's journey, how he finds himself always forgiving, always putting others before himself, the way he learns that being himself and putting himself first is hard but the only way out. I found myself in Sara a lot, with all her bad decisions blinded by love. I found myself in Felice, for feeling not good enough, for not wanting to disappoint her parents. And Wille, oh Wille. A masterpiece, in every way (good and bad). I don't have enough words to describe how badly I wanted him to be happy and free. So thank you, thank you for creating this amazing story. Thank you for believing in this amazing project cause it changed my life forever. Thank you, forever.

The experience of being a YR fan is like none other - the fact that the crew and cast gave us a documentary, that they did a goodbye video, knowing that we hold them dear in our hearts and that we still talk endlessly about the show amongst ourselves… it just goes to show the level of excellence that went into the entire production, the story, the acting, and how no matter who you are, you can relate to so many of the characters on a deep level.
