Same, but opposite. He plays a morally bankrupt deadbeat addict in Always Sunny with only a whiff of an accent, and that's what I know him from. His character drugged an entire wedding with bath salts. It's downright unsettling for me to see him as a mostly responsible Texan dad in this show!

on young Sheldon he goes: *knock knock knock* dad and after the encounter with his dad he does it three times because he wants to give the people behind the door time to maybe put their clothes on (which you can see on tbbt): *knock knock knock* penny *knock knock knock* penny *knock knock knock* penny so the way Sheldon currently knocks on young Sheldon is conclusive with his backstory

@@justellie4872 However, in some of the TBBT episodes, he knocks three time knowing that nothing is going on behind the door. Example, Penny opens the door before the third knock and while she's standing there fully dressed, he continues the knocking and saying her name. It is more due to OCD than any type of warning for the occupant.
