Young folks think they never get OLD! But this crew of Bad Boys are all OLD, VERY OLD men. I wonder if those that are alive wonder if they could go back in time and change their behavior given the tragic outcome of some and the low outcomes of most. When we age, we reflect on the past and realize the foolishness of wasted time during youth. Great video King Klast. Keep them coming. I remember a time long gone. I was just a child but have vivid memories of those times.

between 1976 and 1983, I was armed heavy. every time I ventured into the city. I remember shit turning real bad started in fall 1972 . By 75 it was nuts. Army taught me how to use firearms in combat. I had zero reservations about using deadly force.NONE. Some gang tried to jump people on a subway,we were on Thanksgiving Morning 1072. On way home from the parade. My buddy also a vet and I pulled our weapons. Punks fled to last car.

For the most part, the gangs were either acting up for the camera,or being told what to do by the producer in the different scenarios as it was obvious that they were "acting",as were the other people that weren't in the gangs. Also, when the narrator said the subjects were being filmed on hidden camera(for the free transitor radio scenario),clearly there was a camera man in the room filming the "subjects". Interesting because of the time period it was filmed in,but from a intellectual study point of view that it was meant for at the time, it was poorly done.

I think you're right... but I also think the "scripted" scenes were actually recreations of the studies that they're referencing. The studies were real, but the recreations were not. They just didn't do enough to stress that the scenes were recreations, because nobody cared in those days... which is extremely interesting in and of itself. Nowadays, people desire REALNESS more than anything now... even if it's fake realness (reality tv). But anyway, these recorded street scenes were meant to illustrate the studies and social phenomena they're addressing in the piece.

Facts definitely noticed that in fact the warriors movie was based on ny gangs during that time period, the Homisides were the gang from coney Island the warriors were based off of. And as far as LA goes interesting you mention it being on the wild west shit, because during the actual wild west era it took place in locations such as California, New Mexico, Arizona etc. NY also had the era with Bill The Butcher and the Bowery Boys, NY had the warriors shit going on since the 1800s with the Irish, German, and Italians fighting each other.

This film is actually a lot more different than I thought it would be, but it was fascinating none the less. It really sucks to me how violence is almost encouraged in main stream society - rather than discouraged. I turned off this video at 17.42 not because I found it un-interesting, but because it was making me sick. Marvin Gaye sang it best, "only love can conquer hate" Respect..............

Gangs are simply "modern or neotribalism!".. Human beings have evolved to live in tribal society, as opposed to mass society, and thus will naturally form social networks constituting new tribes and in many ways break away from the collective.. Though most wouldn't consider themselves "tribal", in all walks of life we surround and align ourselves with like-minded individuals with comparative lives, ways of life, past trauma, etc, etc, etc....

I wonder how many of those buildings shown where burnt down a few years later? Are there still some old buildings that survived in the blocks that were destroyed? I've been interested in that era for a long time. I just saw "The Wolf Hour" recently and thought that was pretty good if you are interested in that era. The cheesy, and somewhat racist, movie "Escape from the Bronx" shows a lot of those burnt out buildings, some are shot on stages but some definitely shot in those neighborhoods.
