It’s not about “love me for who I am”, it’s more like “validate me because I’m pretty” and “love me for how I look”. These young women spend so much time worrying about getting “likes” that they cannot actually socialize in every day life.

Damn shame too, especially for young black women. Hard to get interested in a girl if she constantly on social media talking about how you not communicating enough when she hardly responds and when she does, it's unenthusiastic and uninteresting. I'd take an ok looking girl with no social media over a baddie with an addiction to validation anyday

Personally, I think everyone is obsessed with validation on social media. Whether you are a man, woman, entrepreneur, content creator, celebrity, etc., we all seek that validation. Just the amount of likes alone on a photo can boost happiness, create depression, or ultimately force someone to spend way too much time on a platform searching for what will make them popular. This is dangerous, especially because of how many users are on these platforms while their brains' are still developing.

The thing that gets me is we don’t get that being addicted to SM isn’t just “something to do.” The effects of this are neurological/ physiological. It literally rewires your brain. Like, it literally shows up on your imaging scans that your brain is different like if you were on drugs or an alcoholic. It changes you, do we understand this? So- if they’re rewiring their own brains, aren’t they already wiring their kids’ brains too? We haven’t been here before. We don’t have the past 3.. 4 generations to see what happened to a life spent on SM. We don’t know the future generational effects of having a brain wired like this. This is some sci-fi craziness you’re watching unfold in front of your eyes... real time. This is literally insanity in the making.

the NUMBER ONE issue is FATHERS IN THE HOME. Fathers need to teach men how to be men and not be simps which is basically just bitched men. and women need fathers to teach them what a good man supposed to be but with all together almost half the population being raised by single mothers who are also mostly young women who have kids in their late teens to early twenties. how so we expect a normal and mature society when its being raised by teenage girls.

Honestly for the last couple of years I've been contemplating a lot about social media and how it's changed the way we see the world. At first it started off great because people could share moments in their lives and ask for people's thoughts or advice on something happening. But now i just believe it's doing more harm than good. People have become way to over opinionated expressing their views or thoughts unto others who a majority of the time don't really ask for it. People are quick to attack one another if they have different beliefs or views. How this has affected intersexual dynamics has been more detrimental. Women and men are being given unrealistic expectations about how relationships should be or work because they see celebrities or "influencers" setting some sort of bar that is not even real. I think it's also made things so much easier on women who choose to flaunt their bodies to make money. In turn they start believing they are deserving of the lavish lifestyle and believe they should always be treated to all the finer things in life. As long as men continue to give attention and validation there will be no end in sight. I myself am guilty of doing this prior but little by little I have been able pull away from doing these kind of things eventually really truly not giving any free attention. Rare is the woman on social media who doesn't need to post half naked pictures of herself in order to gain attention. I commented this on another video but women don't even want validation from men, unless you are in the top percent, instead want it more from women. The downside to this is that it is affecting younger girls and boys. Personally, I believe parents have a responsibility of whether or not they should let their kids be on social media but I also believe its the companies that provide these platforms responsibility to monitor this a whole lot more closely. I honestly can't open the search in my IG without seeing a majority of half naked women who are "models" and "influencers". That's what kids these days are exposed to. Those are my thoughts. But I believe it's time that things need to change and go in better direction.

Social Media is nothing of the sort, what it actually is, is Social Engineering - the algorithms probably know more about you than you know about yourself. They are able to feed you exactly the content YOU LIKE and CRAVE so that you remain hooked. As someone who worked in software development for over 25 years I've found the rise of the Social Media and the the power and influence it has over individuals and the wider society both sad and alarming. I'm glad you were able to break the habit, good for you, hopefully you're happier as a result. Personally, apart from KZbin I've never cared for it myself, but even here on KZbin I can see the algorithms trying to feed me the content it THINKS I want to watch. Its widely reported that many people who work for these companies in silicon valley actually ban their own kids from using social media...that should tell you everything you need to know.

I agree with all of this. It’s a collapse of civilization happening. It really is. Men aren’t much better. All they do is scroll and look at dudes lifting to work on their bodies. Getting the perfect physique that you see is not only unrealistic for the large majority but it’s also unnecessary. Yeah that’s true. Social media has people so far from reality and I know this first hand because of the industry my partner works in. These girls will do anything to enhance their looks, they will definitely sell their souls for the right price and I had to check a couple because they “think” having a bad attitude is a good thing. The crazy thing is a lot of them live in poverty to get these expensive items, they have children, etc. $300- $500 wigs and weaves but they have zero food in the fridge. It’s crazy/sad at the same time.

Some young women become obsessed with validation on Instagram, yes. Men can't complain about this when they themselves engage in the behavior that's coming into their lap. Don't chase the women who are out for validation from the start. Don't give energy to it. Search for those who aren't posting for validation. I feel the same way when women say, "Women are objectified" but then only post photos of themselves and how gorgeous they are with no depth. Cannot have it both ways.

Great video guys. I totally agree. When I meet a girl I like, I can’t wait to see her social media. It can tell me a lot about how confident she is within herself. Characteristics I find most attractive are- showing their beauty and body shape with class and style. But not in a seductive way 👌 I see a strong correlation with girls that post sexy imagery and having relationship issues. I’m always saying to my female friends- what’s more important, attention or respect? And tell them that posting sexy pictures might bring them thousands more likes, but will Deter the really quality men that are looking for a levelheaded girl. But the social media validation seeking is just a byproduct of deeper issues. Even if they stop the social media validation addiction, the problem is still there. I think some form of therapy is the real answer. And to be fair, men are the same. Certain men can also seek validation through social media. They could use seductive or other ways of getting attention or increasing perceived status online. Insecurity has no gender.

@@MyLife-sq9ll As if being homeless is the only other option you have outside of being a social media hoe. Learn a skill and capitalize off of it and invest your money for rainy days and you will never have to worry about being "homeless". Some of these women act like they have no other route to success outside of being an IG model or selling their body to the world because it's how they are conditioned from a very young age. Let's be honest they just want to take the path of least resistance and don't mind sacrificing their integrity and long-term self image in process for some quick short-lived money. That's not the example we should be setting as a society for our children. We need more intelligent, able-minded, and comprehensive people in this world to better the future of humanity and that is dwindling with each generation that has been touched by the cancer of this influencer era. It's almost like a game of high-school for grown ass adults who have yet to find their true meaningful purpose in life.

I think women today are told two things in their lives 1) looks don’t matter, that’s not where your value lies and 2) the only thing that matters about you is your physical beauty, and the only thing that men value in you is your beauty. Men are being hypocrites when they say “I don’t like when women use their looks to feel validated “ and “I want a baddie with typical sexualized figures.” It’s a double bind that most women find themselves trying to reconcile

This study can be used for a strong argument against chronic social media and pornography usage. It can also be used to make an argument for why chronic social media or pornography can cause relationship dissatisfaction. When I conduct this study I will need more male participants. Pre social media in high school I still wanted the validation from my peers. You want to be the one people admire and notice. In high school I change my hair and I got a lot of validation in person from girls and guys. Now all I gotta do is post a selfie at the right time and get the comments and I can look back at them when I’m down. It is very very very addicting HIGHLY. We are both from the same South Asian community where we have conservative views due to our Islamic beliefs. However, I knew the relationship would end slowly and gradually they day she told me she was on Instagram. Anyway, this girl had a personality disorder. A mask she wore for her parents and brothers, another one for her sisters and friends and another different one for me which she claimed she was not like other girls. I know of plenty of females from good households with both sets of parents but they'll be living a whole different life online for others.

This is perplexing. Especially after the Hafis evaluation. I guess you understand that sex sells so you encourage more stimulating social media. Alternatively, this is a part of the reason ppl don’t mind objectifying themselves to create relationships. Similarly to sex, some women prefer to be more explicit in hopes of receiving love (validation). It’s crazy how men objectify their women on social media for validation as well.

Men buy only fans , like pictures of those women online, men are addicted to porn etc. Men are usually the one who pushes women to those type of situation ( i mean men are the one who owns those platform, the movie industry and music industry). Even if you say that this video is about women only, I see that this whole channel is always about putting negative light on women but never talks truthfully on how men are not angels and blameless.
