Are we to look like the world to be attractive to the lost, or are we to be a light, sharing God's awesome message of love and redemption? I think there's a real problem when the focus of worship becomes the music, especially when it's trance music. Hypnosis, and inducing trance-like states is occultic and not of God. It seemed like at the beginning, especially, the audience was psyched up about the music itself, maybe the performers, and not so much about Jesus, the Lord of Glory Himself.

I'm not one to question motives but I do hope and pray that Christ is their motive. Their songs, while catchy, have no real theological truth for the most part. As harsh as it sounds, most of it seems empty and fruitless. I used to be someone that just followed my emotions and got swept up by the atmosphere and the mood. I wasn't interested in praising Christ as much as I was chasing after acceptance and good vibes. Praise songs are supposed to give glory to God, not make you feel good. I can't fault their enthusiasm but I just feel like it's all a bit empty.

Grace Lillian I agree with you. We should always take the Lord's perspective above man's. I used to love music like this because it made me feel good but honestly it didn't bring me closer to God. I liked it because of the beat. Now I enjoy singing old hymns and praise songs because they give God the glory. Yes they can be dull and not as catchy but that's not what it's about. God wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), not to enjoy the beat.

I love this! :D God gave us ears to hear, voices to sing, the ability to be creative, the bodies to dance, the hands to raise to Him, why not use them!!? This music is uplifting, it is good to dance to and to worship the One who made us who we are and Who gave us the ability to enjoy this life we are given! well, there will always be pros and cons with Hillsong Y&F. They made Christian EDM and i think there's nothing wrong with that. it can gain attention from youths around the world who think that churches will always be old "boring" hymns. And they made good stuffs and the lyrics are deep. My grandmother was the one who criticize band in church back in the 70's. Music evolves, so why don't gospel music evolves? as long as it is only for His Glory :) and btw you guys should buy the album its amazing how they use their talent for God

As long as the heart for entertainment isn't replacing the heart for worship. I don't see anything wrong with the hymns. They actually have a lot of power, well the ones with truth do. Revival is birthed through prayer and repentance. And this music will not birth that. But it is still cool. But I'd rather have revival
