Hi Kaci Remember the Humlebi Shawl? While looking for the pattern I found the Humlebi Socks. I decided to knit the socks first as a practice run before tackling the shawl. I finished the first sock a few days ago and thought my bee wings were perhaps a little too long. I decided to make the stitch a bit tighter on the next sock. THEN you put up this podcast showing your bees. I realised bees have quite long wings. 😮My stitches were the perfect length. 😊 So thank you for sharing your bee keeping. Your podcast is such a pleasure to watch. You have a peaceful yet informative style. I look forward to each new release. Thank you for sharing your life & creativity, Heather from New Zealand 🇳🇿

Hi Kaci! Amazing video... a veritable feast for the eyes! I cannot believe the speed of time these days. ALMOST the end of September. What the?!! Loved the bee-hind (pun) the scenes of the honey harvest, and all your sweet knits! Your colour palette so resonates with my knitterly soul. Hope your headache has hit the road.

Love seeing your honey bees at work . My daughter has hives , bees are the most amazing little things. They clean out the hives , always busy at the bottom outside . Wonderful to watch them but at a distance .

I loved the bee video, amazing!!! As well, I love,the intro music. All of your knits are beautiful, you are such a skilled knitter. Thanks for giving your feedback on the weekender crew, I was thinking of knitting it however, I can’t seem to figure out a tubular cast on as well as 3 needle bind off, so it may need to wait. Your Teri’s sweater is beautiful too, but another tubular cast on. I may just do a regular cast on as both sweaters are down my aisle. Thx for another great podcast 😊

My dad and my mom's cousin keep bees together, and occasionally, my kids help with the heavy lifting of the supers. They always give me some honey, and my boys get their own jars when they help. My favorite is honey is popular honey. I like sour wood honey too but it's not local. They put hives on property they have in Virginia and we live in NC. So excited about the weekender crew!!! Yay. I don't normally like bottom up knits but I will definitely knit this one. I have degenerative disc disease that causes me to have to deal with migraines. I hope you feel better soon

Love seeing the honey harvest. Quite interesting. How did your vegetable garden fair this year? I live in Nevada and our vegetables and fruit trees produced more than ever before. I was almost finished Jackie's version of the cowl neck Weekender when the crew neck version came out. This is my second Weekender, and I love this version even more. The gauge on my first, while using the called for yarn, seems stiff. I wanted to say regarding the difficulty you had getting gauge may be because the Dapple has 330 yards per 100 grams, and the Luma has 264 yards per 100 grams. When substituting yarns, I compare the yardage first, before I compare the composition. I am a tight knitter, and have the same concerns with getting gauge as loose knitters do. If I really love the fabric I'm getting, I'd rather go up a garment size than change needle size.

Love your round yoke sweater! I too have round yoke sweater issues and for the longest time I thought I was picking the wrong size. But I think after I knitted several Renunculuses (sp??) lol…. That got me thinking about upper bust size and how to adjust for fit issues. Thanks for more advice on that! I enjoy your podcast!

I have similar fit issues with circular yoke patterns. You can also increase your needle size to increase from your upper chest measurement to your full bust.

Love seeing your bees and beautiful honey. Question for you! (And fellow knitters/honey-lovers) I’m in LOVE with the idea of using honey in my everyday life, but I’m always at a loss for how to actually use it, beyond tea. What are your favorite ways??
@wildnatureknits Жыл бұрын
I like adding honey on toast (by itself or with peanut butter), boiling a cup of water with honey to ease sore throats, or add honey as a sweetener for baking 💛 sometimes I just eat a spoonful because it's that good!
@JessicaT10118 Жыл бұрын
If you are a baker, honey butter on homemade bread is fantastic.

I’ll bet, when the cameras aren’t rolling, you don’t wear the “suit”. 😅 I have bee keeping family members and I don’t think I’ve every seen them wear the suit. You don’t have to answer. 😊 I like the new Weekender version. I feel the same as you about the boat neck. I don’t care for the pockets, they seem too high for this version, therefore, a bit useless.
@lenar.4735 Жыл бұрын
I agree, the pockets don't look very good - the size and placement are odd (and add extra volume around the midsection, which many women don't like).
@YoungfolkKnits Жыл бұрын
I don’t usually wear a bee suit unless I know they are going to be really upset because of something we are doing. It’s just too hot around here

Hi, Kaci! I want to say thank you for creating great videos! I enjoy your channel very much, your projects and your creative energy are so inspiring! I was looking for a link or information in your description box for ways to thank you financially, but there are no details about that. I wonder if you thought of adding something like that (Super Thanks button on KZbin, KoFi, or some other thing)?

Is the weekender crew teal or green? In the video, it seems to be teal, but in the photos, it's edited to be more green!
