EXACTLY!! I just raised my prices after 25 years in business. Every client that has been with me from 10 plus years ago, they said, "It's about time!". They are actually paying me more and coming more often. On another note, my client's respect my family and time just as I respect them. It starts from the beginning (1st consultation). They learn you and you learn them. It works. This was confirmation. Thanks for this.

I'm not a nail tech yet, going to school next year (yay!) but, I've been a massage therapist for the past 15 years. I've seen so many massage therapists quit because of burnout or injury! My keys to longevity is 3 fold: 1-regular self care (receiving therapeutic massage as often as possible, and monthly chiropractic appointments) 2- PROPER ERGANOMICS!! 3-I never overbooked myself. I could only physically and emotionally take 4 clients per day and I never went over that amount. Also, I charged accordingly so that I didn't feel the need to take more clients for the sake of money! I plan to continue to apply these practices in my new nail career! Young Nails, you guys are the best company out here, love you guys so much!!!

Although I'm not in the nail field (I'm a lawyer) I love these tips that you commented. Especially not overbooking yourself! I need to raise my price so I can be able to do that.

I know this was already like past the 20 minute point, which is usually about the limit, but maybe could y'all do a part 2 of this topic or something? Like it was all critical, vital information, (and I barely blinked), but I still have that "thirst for knowledge" on this topic. This was a really good biz talk!👏

I just decided to raise my prices by 5.00 per enhancement and pedicure service after seeing other techs in my town charging more for less service. I posted a sign at my station and the prices will change in January. So they have three months notice. We also have a no child policy and a cancellation policy for the whole salon! It is a game changer! All new clients are sent these policies at time of first booking!

Think it needs a part 2 of what excites you both about the nail biz and why and how it keeps you going and what you love aswell 💕

26 years and I have reinvented the Business multiple times with services and pricing. If you don't up leave your self and your Business you will not have success. I have clients that have been with me from the start and they under stand that I'm growing, offering more and better quality services to my line, and get as excited as I do, they usually don't have a problem with it. Like Kiana said this was confirmation . Thank you for all of your insight.

Love this! I’m very new so the sooner I start before I get settled in my “old ways” the better! I’m def. needing to set boundaries physically. I fight so hard sometimes and need to speak up. Also, will you guys do a biz talk video on pricing when it comes to speed. Slower techs vs fast techs and/or your pricing videos can incorporate a separate pricing for longer service for the same set if done slower with a tier level of time? Another great idea I have is consistencies while getting started and how it could relate to pricing and speed. I’m new so I’m still working on my speed and gave improved so much. I still have a long way to go but I don’t want charge what I want for the timing of services that could/should take less time. Please and thank you?

Can y’all go into more detail with ventilation systems? I was looking into aerovexsystems but I don’t know much about any system to use... I have y’all’s dust collector but I’m definitely nervous about the acrylic fumes and how harmful they can be.

Rigid clients!!! In the school environment, they are aplenty! As students,we are already on edge, trying to make everything perfect within our time constraints and then... we get the park statue at our table! No matter what we say or do, they are as stiff and rigid as freshly carved marble! The inflexible wrist, the stock straight fingers that will not point downward no matter what. And then... you’re thinking 💭 well... that’s gonna take some filing... At what point do I crack a stupid joke and see if laughter gets them to relax a bit (which will also get me a thorough stink-eye from my instructor)? Or how would you address this in this environment?

I am just starting on my own AND moving to a different state. How do you know if you are charging too much? I have looked at the surrounding salons and am shocked at how low their prices are. I feel that I am worth way more but afraid of the "why are you so expensive?"
@lisaw21384 жыл бұрын
I am not saying I am putting together outrageously priced services. I seriously cannot believe how low other salons are. I'd expected to pay twice what they are charging
@crystalnichols69944 жыл бұрын
Cost of living and booth rent will vary location to location. Perhaps when you move booth rent will be lower. I personally would look into techs in my areas prices and set mine similar. You can always increase it once established. I just raised my prices after two years after seeing other techs in my area offering less service for more money.

For someone just trying to start at this career - everything you said about taking care of ourselves is soooo much appreciated. I am still trying to find my comfortable position while practicing and need to keep so much attention to correcting myself all the time 🫣
