Trusting the process is hard for me and allowing my body time to change is a struggle. I've always allowed myself to get hung up over setbacks and not giving myself time to change. After a great heart to heart with my husband I'm just moving everyday. If I'm not doing a workout with the Fresh Start Program I'm going to the gym for a walk. I've found over the last week this is a great way for me to disconnect from my day and making time for me. Having me time is ok and I deserved it!

There are so many great takeaways in this 2024 Pep Talk. Some are: have fun, there are no shortcuts or a fastest way to lose weight, pay attention to not only your workouts but also your good nutrition is a must. Eat what you want but in moderation. We all know what is appropriate and what is too much. Also, let's not apologize about our fitness and/or weight loss goals; it's ok to stand firm, prioritize our workouts and nutrition. Per Juice, build your own teamcand yourcown system. The Juice & Toya app and community is a fantastic resource for us all to look to for advice and encouragement. Everyone is so supportive of each other. These are just a few of my takeaway which I intend to use to stay on track in 2024, starting with the new Fresh Start program. And let's remember, per Toya, it's just a START to what should be a continuing, consistent daily habit for all of us!

I’ve been posting all over the place: here, Facebook, the app…. But I just want to make it loud and clear that I really enjoyed this podcast! So many great points. Trust the process. Trust your trainer - or find another one! Be prepared for setbacks. Learn, don’t just follow. And of course the five tips: Have a goal, build a routine, move everyday, focus on why not what, and make it fun! So glad to be on this journey with you two!

My take way from podcast is movement and nutrition. Movement is adding up to burn calories. Walking steps at lunch time at work place and any other places. Nutrition is the most important things to be healthy and tone , strength. I have been working out with you guys every morning at 4am every day before going to work. Thank you very much! Sammy God bless

You guys rock! I love the honesty & that fact that you don't sugar coat things. So many people are looking for things they "want to hear" but sometimes you need to be told the things you don't necessarily want to hear to help change your outlook on the situation. My takeaway is to find a way to move your body everyday. This is huge for me because I sit at a desk 8 hours a day at work. Sometimes when I get out of work all I want to do is go home and sit on my couch, but if I do some type of exercise i feel a million times better. Yes there will be days when I dont want to workout but even a 20 minute walk around the block is helping to take care of my body.

My takeaway is that your workout journey is a lifestyle change. I liked the points that movement everyday and consistently is key and that moderation is key. Those are two things that I will like to implement in my routine!

I've been working out with Juice & Toya for over a year and a half now... consistently. While I can definitely say I see that my body has changed, I have yet to meet my true goals. I was getting discouraged before this challenge wondering almost everyday, why I don't see the changes I REALLY want to see after doing this for quite some time. My biggest take away is that I was not prioritizing nutrition like I should have been. This is where I have failed MISERABLY! I will admit I'd fallen victim to some of the IG influencers who highlight mainly protein so as embarrassing as it is, I actually thought that protein should be my main focus, and so it has been. I cheated way too often thinking that as long as I eat my protein I'm good. WRONG!!!! After watching this video I now know and understand that it's so much more than that. There's so many other healthy foods that I need to incorporate consistently to make this work. They've mentioned before the importance of utilizing the nutrition guide but again...I did not. However, my fingers practically ran to it after watching this video. I scrolled through that guide with tears in my eyes realizing how badly I've been failing my body nutrition wise and THAT is the reason I don't see what I want to see. I get it now more than ever. Alongside that, I'm definitely gonna need to give myself some grace for feeling like a failure, and patience because this really is like a fresh start for me knowing now that there are several things that I need to incorporate regularly in order to meet my goals. NUTRITION, THE WORKOUT, STRETCHING, REST & RECOVERY, MENTAL HEALTH. They are all important and I NEED to make them all a priority. Thank you Juice & Toya for your words of wisdom. I hear you loud and clear now. 😌

My takeaway from this and what I want to implement in 2024 is adding more movement into my daily life and making it fun. I really want to fall in love with movement and how it makes me feel. I have started doing a daily walk and already feel so much better! Now I want to start trying new types of exercise classes!

Thank you SO much for this episode! I'm not even finished listening to it yet, but I had to comment. The beginning portion about how long it can truly take to lose weight was so encouraging! I'm not on social media much, but when I am it can be difficult to not compare and see how "fast" others have gotten in shape. It's discouraging! So thank you, Juice and Toya, for bringing this to light. It's giving me the courage and resolve to keep at what I'm doing, and do it the "slow", healthy way. 😉 Love you guys, and appreciate all you do! ♥️

My personal takeaway is 'take it one day at a time.' A mindset of getting up in the morning and saying: let's get some movement in today, drink plenty of water and think about what I eat, makes me far more consistent than saying 'I'm going to change my lifestyle this year.'

My takeaway from the podcast is "setbacks WILL happen!" I can get so discouraged when I get sick or strain a muscle and want to throw in the towel for the week. I love that this program is only 4 days a week allowing for more space for those setbacks and to pivot and make adjustments! I did day 4 circuit after day 4 follow along felt like not enough for me and I loved it!!!! I thought I was always needing the follow along to motivate myself but circuit might be where it's at now!!

My take away: “how you feel in the moment dictate your future” - Juice. I’ve given up so many times eating my feelings and basically that moment being the reason I quit and have to start over. I now understand that a setback is not a reason to stop striving

I love how real you guys are! I definitely need to focus more on my nutrition! I got the workouts down and have lost so much weight in the past year but I have hit a plateau for the past few months and I know for sure it’s my nutrition and not being completely honest with myself about what I’m eating! Love you guys! Thank you for all you do! ❤

Topic suggestion - in depth on celebrating PROGRESS. We're fired up in the beginning and cheer at the end, but what about the in between and when "don't give up" and "keep going" isn't enough? Let's actually celebrate the progress/in between just as much as the end!

All the tips are things we all may not want to hear but definitely NEED to hear. They all spoke to me but if I had to choose one, it was...moderation in the nutrition section!!! I am a person who did a program (before finding you) that I ate nothing but veggies (and a little protein) for 8 weeks. I had an amazing weight loss journey but after those 8 weeks, I had no idea or guidance on how to properly maintain that weight. So when I started to bring a few things I enjoyed back into my diet, I bombed terribly! It wasn’t until I met you guys that gave me a good and healthy relationship with food. I ate very differently the way you taught me for the Celebration Challenge and I was in the very best shape of my life!!! So thank you for sharing how to properly fuel your body!

One key thing I learned from the podcast which I knew and heard so many times is, "You cannot out train a bad diet!" I used to believe that as long as I worked out I could eat whatever and be ok even though I heard this saying so many times. It was just that I didn't want to put the time in my nutrition because I wasn't ready to clean up my eating habits. It wasn't until I told myself that this was actually true and began to work one step at a time, I began to see the results!! Now it is easier for me to say no sometimes where at first it just seemed as tho I was too addicted to say NO!

Easy take away for me is to move every day! Already kind of knew I needed to get better at this so it was good to hear it. I'm going to start having a rest day mid week and work out on Saturday and see how that feels but also know I need to get movement in on Sundays. Sundays can be so lazy for me and I love that but I often overcompensate and don't even walk the dog when the husband is home so I am going to focus on making sure I get at least a little walking or stretching 😊

My takeaway is : The goal is not to complete a challenge; the aim should be to cultivate healthy habits and discipline: in training, nutrition. Listen to your body. Push your comfort zone - raise the bar higher. Change requires sacrifice, and that brings results at the end of the day.

This was so good that I can comment here, on FB and the app with three different take aways and still have more lol. I love the message about not ignoring your food. I am someone who will say I’m eating something in moderation because I don’t eat it often but will completely ignore the portion size and have two big slices of cake because I went 10 days without cake. I also like the idea of eating before you go to events where you would be tempted to ignore the impact of the food that will be consumed. I’m definitely going to try that.

My #1 takeaway - I really didn't realize how sedentary I was. I thought that since I did a moderate or semi-vigorous workout 6-7 times a week, I was active. However, that's not really accurate because of my desk job and I sit most of the day. So, I'm committing to 5/10 minute walks throughout the day. If I'm not able to do that, then I need to do a 20/30 minute walk or workout after I log off work for the day.

My take away from this podcast was what Juice said about “Being uncomfortable and sore from your workouts is a good thing. It’s your body telling you that you did something that’s going to help me change. Your body is smart and it’s going to process that soreness and come back a lot stronger find a way to build muscle because it’s like I don’t want to feel that and because of that on your next workout you may crush it.” After I hurt my back the end of 2022 going into 2023 I feel like that whole year I was weary of lifting heavier because I didn’t want to re injure myself again. But I felt like every time my muscles started to get sore I would back off the heavier weights and revert back to the lighter weights. This year I want to lean in to that soreness a little more to give my muscles a chance to build themselves up by lifting a little heavier by going up in weights at least every month to couple months depending on how I’m progressing 😊💪🏽

I commented in the Facebook group but figured I’d post that here as well. I loved this whole podcast and have a hard time picking one takeaway. All of the information and tough love was fantastic. I’m hard on myself so my take away is to give my self grace while I navigate making changes, setting goals and hitting them. Focus on the the progress, even the smallest highs and not the setbacks. Setbacks are a lesson. And lessons are ok. The important thing is to get back up and move forward. Keep a healthy mindset and stay consistent with both exercise and nutrition.

It's actually good that spot reduction doesn't work cause I guarantee you, many (most?) people would NOT get it right!! You'd have people asking you "I wanted to reduce belly fat, so of course I did core strength, and now I have chiseled abs with back rolls & floppy arms, what do I do now?!" 😱 And those poor souls would look something between hilarious and horrifying 🤭
