I'm 53 years old and hadn't picked up a guitar in about 20+ years. Got busy with raising my kids, etc. I wasn't that good when I was playing as a kid but decent enough. Anyway, I just wanted to let anyone know who is on the fence about Dr. Groovy and his lessons, ABSOLUTELY DO IT! I've learned more from this guy in 2 or 3 videos than I would have ever dreamed of learning so quickly. He's very direct, but if you'll listen to him and do what he says you'll be a much improved player and you'll achieve the goal of having fun with your guitar. That's the point, right? Scott thank you so much for the time you spend on helping others.

You are way too kind and I appreciate everything you said in your note. I'm so glad that you've gotten something from some of my videos. All my best!

Three cheers my man! You are the most generous and down to earth teacher on KZbin I've played many years, and most always pick up on a new or different tip or way of looking at the fretboard from your tutorials. Young folks just starting out or seasoned old farts are lucky to find you here or at groovy music!

Many thanks. The thing that gives me my sound is a compressor on all the time. It too is a Boss. You probably have on built in to your GX unit.

Hi Scott, I enjoy your videos. I have purchased a lot of your DVDs. Pretty cool. On behalf of us guitarded thanks for sharing your knowledge. So?.How how HOW can you play country without a telecaster with a maple neck?lol. kidding.
@groovydjs7 жыл бұрын
LOL. I find it funny (and sad) that in TODAY'S country, the majority of it is being played by rockers with their PRS, Jacksons, Flying V's etc. The majority of the stuff with folks like Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Zac Brown Band are all rockin' the country hard and hitting people with a LOT more gain than guitarists were using in the 70's and early 80's. So, the humbuckers are back in whatever that noise is that they are playing now. lol You have to find something in people like John 5. NOTHING but Tele's and He can shred all day and chicken pick with the best of them on his collection of old planks. Everything is all upside down these days, but....there's still something interesting about all the "RULES" that have been broken. Be GROOVY my friend.

I wish I still was. I haven't had coffee for 3 days.....so, I HAD to get up today. Plus, I've got a ton of new guitars that ALL need new pickups and other parts. Every one needs a new nut and fret work as well. Plenty to do.
