Hey! I'm Alanna - a twenty-something documenting my life as a Canadian living in England.
I share the ups and downs of an expat living abroad and what it's really like living in the UK. It's not always easy, but there's been so many wonderful experiences, too. I post a KZbin video every Tuesday and an additional video every Saturday on my Patreon account. I also livestream every Wednesday and Sunday at 6:30pm GMT on Twitch.

When I stepped out of the house to dump some garbage, I noticed my neighbour talking with her cat. She seemed to think her cat understood everything she said. I went back inside and told my dog. We had a good laugh over that!!! Steve from Guelph, Canada.

@@rosnenu8148 Hello Ros, thanks for schooling my ignorance, clearly everyone can be hated but on the WORLD stage Canadians will probably be way down the list along with New Zealanders who doubtless, in your picky world, are hated by someone. This is not the place for little keyboard warriors Ros, it's for 'sunny' people. So go and prowl round a modern history or militaria site and have a squabble on there instead, they'll tear you apart. Have a nice day! P.S. Loved your acidic 'sushi' comment to one of the other contributors on here, you really are tiresome aren't you.

Congrats on the 60k! Hope the visa application goes well, we need you back home in England is very boring here at the minute, also we’ve had a chat while you was out of the country (organising a 60+ mill WhatsApp group was a bit of a mare) but consensus was you need dual citizenship, so just add that to your list of things to do when back in Blighty, stay safe!

On the living abroad comment you've made during your video and I can say that I've lived in California for 9 months and I agree that living abroad is nowhere near out of reach as most people think. I have since come back to London due to the fact that I only went out to California for love and that my late girlfriend I went to live with has since died. It was quite heartbreaking, but I'm bodging my heart up bit by bit.

Make crustless pizza. Use the plate as the crust. Spread some sauce onto it. Add the mozzarella. Then put on your toppings and cover with grated parmesan. Put a paper plate over the top of everything and then microwave it for a couple of minutes. When the cheese is melted, it's ready to eat. When you've finished, wash the "crust" and put it in the cupboard. If you want to get the flavor of baking it, then use a non-stick pan for your crust. Easy, tasty, and crustless.

Hi Alanna, are you currently back in Ontario Canada or still in Orlando Florida?? The room in this video looks more Floridian...is that even a word??? Well done reaching 60,000 subscribers. I was doing cartwheels when I reached 100. My assumptions about you is that you are able to handle just about any situation and you have a great positive attitude. Doing anything in front of an audience can be absolutely terrifying, I can completely understand your feelings about that. I also understand why you value privacy, I do the same thing. I would also really hate painting my toenails!!! LOL. Incidentally, I think your Canadian accent is great. Your accent is quite different to the BC Canada accent. Where did you get the "Adventures and Naps" name from for your video channel? Incidentally, when eating peas, which are all the same, why do we always choose which one to eat first? Now that is something to ponder about!!! I always add the milk after the cereal. When you do decide to get a delivery from Tim Horton's or anywhere else, could you possibly do a video covering the first unwrapping please? Anyway, wishing you the very best. Robert.

The truth of it, Alana, is that the UK has an undernourished sense of value about itself. It laps up those views of outsiders who are mainly positive because it isn't confident in itself in terms of what it should be grateful for. The UK psyche is one that can only enjoy stuff if others enjoy it - part of the class system, and a certain level of prurience - and, even when outside the UK will seek your comparisons with what it is you miss

Top work Alanna! Being Canadian sounds like being Welsh. In the same way that you're from North America, but not from the USA, we're from the British Isles but not English! It's a positive reaction based on having bad neighbours / neighbors!

Alanna, I love yet another video. I'm catching up on your past videos and like the 'assumptions' one. Being from Ontario myself (originally Hamilton, but for many years have lived in Toronto) I gotta say...."ALL DRESSED RULES!!!"

Having been here since double digit days, I've always enjoyed the random and light-hearted theme to this. And, we're opposite in that she's moved to Britain from Ontario, and I'm here now (having roots/family) from England. This is just like watching my favorite thing having a good time and enjoying things.. And I appreciate the break it affords me from the 'day2day' of life. Hope your getting on okay.. If I knew you personally. We would have having words over that call to Florida.. But I guess ya live and learn.
