I like to think of it like grades in school. If the battery health is 60% or higher, then it still passes

@@Technomentary I remember in school, you would fail if your grade was a 59% or lower or an F, 60 to 69% was a D or below average but passable, a 70 to 79% is a C or average or fair, an 80 to 89% is a B or above average or good, then a 90 to 100% is an A or outstanding. I remember a year or two ago having a Xiaomi mi A2 phone and with a program called accubattery, it said that it’s battery health was only at 33% and that phone only lasted about a couple hours per charge, so a 33% would be a failing grade.

Hey, I might be late to comment but my iPhone 11 Pro Max has 75% battery health and sometimes screens feels like it's below 60fps in the UI, also happens when starting a game at the start it's lagging like 30fps then eventually turns 60fps... If you feel the battery life is fine with you, then you should be good. If it doesn't last or drains too fast, then you should consider replacing it.

I guess, definitely a sign to get the battery replaced. The degraded battery is probably causing some software glitch. When I noticed that mine is on 79%, few days later my apps just started to lag and show a black screen after, I had to do a power reset and it worked. It worked perfectly before I found out about the battery warning. Letting u know, this is just a guess

3 things - 1. either software bug which might be fixed with software update 2. the batter was replaced with non genuine 3. battery was damaged from drop, etc.

software issue with battery calibration, if you updated the software to latest iOS and the issue isn't fixed, most likely it will need battery replacement

I bought a new SE phone in May 2020. In June or July 2021, just after the warranty expired, I noticed the HIDDEN remark "Service", under Battery Health, which expands to "... significantly degraded ...". There was NO NOTIFICATION in Settings, no alert to call attention to this. So, it may have started much earlier. I am not in the habit of checking "Battery Health" daily, just in case something idiotic like this has happened suddenly, and Apple has not taken any initiative to make me aware of it. Anyways, as of now, the battery capacity is still 92% of the factory capacity. This is an arrogant failure to inform on the part of Apple, as well as an increasing removal of access to system data, over the years. "degraded" is a nontechnical characterization, devoid of actual information. I want quantitative technical data at the time when the condition happens, not at some random time later, when I happen to stumble upon it. This is analogous to the "Engine Oil" light on the car's dashboard only coming on AFTER you check the oil with the dipstick! Unfortunately this posting with the correct and promising title appears to have no actual understanding to offer.

Either battery was replaced or water damage or liquid got in. It is possible that the dropped could have triggered it as well. Best would be to take a to Apple service center so they can do a diagnostic.

Might be misleading; iOS 14.5 or later recalibrated your battery health on iPhone 11 models and later. That might help it go away. But if you feel the battery works fine then don’t worry about it. But if you feel like it’s bad and doesn’t last long then it might be time to get it replaced.

Have you updated iOS lately? Some people with software updates have experienced inaccurate battery health readings. My XR battery health has fluctuated occasionally with updates. Did you buy your phone new or used? Sometimes used phones have already had their batteries replaced with aftermarket batteries which can also affect battery health.

Also, I forgot to add, considering it is a 2018 iPhone (like mine), the lithium ion battery will naturally age and decrease from full capacity, even if the phone is in original packaging and has never been used. That’s just the nature of lithium ion. If your battery drops below 80%, I recommend taking it to an apple store and they will give you a new battery for $69.

Most likely, they lied because they didn't want to use a new battery. Sometimes, even a new battery might not help if there's hardware issue that causes battery to be drained. iPhone 7 is almost at the end of it's life, you should consider upgrading.
