I’ve got the disc brake model. Excellent bike. Great shifting. Got it for $500 used. Best money I’ve ever spent.

I think those holes are for internal disc brake cable routing, I have giant defy and that's where the cable comes out

I have the same lights on that bike, cheap and cheerful. I am torn between the Giant Contend SL 2 Disc and the Giant SL 1 rim.

Nice bike. There is one thing to replace. Brake pads. You can put Ultegra brake pads and braking will be perfect. I did it on Tektro brakes. That changed everything. And it is a very cheap upgrade.

I own the Giant Contend SL Disc 1. The Press Fit Bottom Bracket is fine. I dislike Hybrid Disc Brakes, and The D - Fuse Post because they’re propriety. I’d like to chose my own Seat post, and my own Disc Brakes. But overall I’m very satisfied with this bicycle for the money.

I feel if anything, the market is sizing bikes small. Most people don't want to be in such an aggressive position. Like 1% of cyclists do anything competitive.
