AMAZING Tiramisu Recipe & more weekend cooking! | Southern Kitchen
Tiramisu
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
8 ounce container mascarpone cheese ,room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups cold espresso or strong coffee
1 1/2 packages Lady Fingers
Cocoa powder for dusting the top.
Directions:
Add whipping cream to a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with electric mixers (or use a stand mixer). Slowly add sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until stiff peaks. Add mascarpone cheese and mix until combined. Set aside.
Add coffee to a shallow bowl. Dip the lady fingers in the coffee and lay them in a single layer on the bottom of an 8x8'' pan.
Smooth half of the mascarpone mixture over the top. Add another layer of dipped lady fingers. Smooth remaining mascarpone cream over the top.
Dust cocoa powder generously over the top (I use a fine mesh strainer to do this). Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or up to overnight before serving.

A couple years ago we made tiramisu for Valentines Day, we used espresso. We had our nice meal, some of my children had Mountain Dew to drink. A couple hours later and my 7 year old was bouncing around singing " tiramisu and Mountain Dew"! She didn't go to sleep until close to midnight. Moral of the story- tiramisu and Mountain Dew at the same meal might be a bit much! 😁

I use t-posts and castle panel for trellises in the garden. We put them up every year and reuse them. We just use long zip ties to attach them. Tiramisu is pretty good. Not very sweet at all. Next time true coffee grinding the grounds into an almost powder to mix with the cocoa powder for an extra coffee kick.

Thanks for the Tiramisu recipe. I never knew it was that easy to make and I love it. Also happy to learn a new recipe for beet greens. I usually marinate them in oil & vingar dressing and when I shop, I choose my beets based on the best looking greens.

I give my chocolate labs green beans on their supper every night, so I plant a LOT of beans. I plant bush beans, so I don’t have to have trellises all over my yard. I do use tomato cages over them for support though.

Oooh I LOVE tiramisu (without rum). It's my bestie's favorite dessert. I think I'll surprise her with your recipe when she come to visit this month. Your version looks amazing! I'd like to try both recipes. Thank you Falon! Titus, I cook beet greens the same way, but I've never added lemon juice or zest. Sounds delicious! Beet greens are also good raw in a salad with oranges, onions, slivered almonds and olive oil/vinegar dresding. Roasted beets are amazing drizzled with orange infused olive oil. The oil is expensive, but it's a nice addition to beets, carrots and salads with oranges or apples in it.
