The recommended book is from 2009, which is a lifetime ago in the field of cognitive psychology. A few new insights have been added since then!

It also fails to offer the promised “hacks” to improve comprehension. I have read this book so it was a useful review but I can’t help the feeling we have been scammed. It’s the new product, find a book review, get AI to read it and make some money on youtube.

Firstly, we don’t just find random book reviews online and read them aloud to make money. We actually read the books, summarize them, and then write our scripts. Although this book doesn’t directly outline ways to improve comprehension, it does talk about reading aloud, phonetic encoding, multisensory reading, and encouraging guessing. These methods are mentioned separately, but we will compile them into effective techniques for comprehension enhancement. Our summaries are quite subjective, and we appreciate your feedback on our work. By the way, I’ve seen some fake books on KZbin made into summaries, which is pretty funny.

@@BookEveryDay999 I chose this book because I had read it recently. I’ve tried a few of the sites and apps that summarise books. I look at a book I’ve already read so I can easily compare their work. They are usually very bad. I can say that your review is good, and is an accurate description of a very complex book. I would prefer that you don’t mention hacks that aren’t present in the book. Actually, the book isn’t aimed at trying to improve our reading or comprehension. It’s an explanation of how incredibly complex our brains ability to read is, and how wildly adaptive our brain is to be able to develop the ability. Now I can report that it’s not some artificial intelligence Internet scam. Good luck with your venture.

This must be an AI voice, no? The oddity around 3.15 is not an error a human would make. Nor is pronouncing saccade two different ways. As a Londoner, it is generally more comfortable for me to listen to an English voice, but if there are going to be jarring pronunciations, I think I would prefer a human American, with the concomitant (and compensatory) energy and enthusiasm, to these rather stilted tones. Nevertheless, an interesting topic, and a book I will investigate.

The AI-generated voice is something we’ve been upfront about, and we acknowledge this limitation. Unfortunately, we have to wait for the voice provider to fix this in upcoming updates. Meanwhile, we’re grateful for your positive feedback on our content.

@@BookEveryDay999 if you dont wanna do a human narrator, just put script in the video for us to READ, and put in music, maybe. I mean, missed opportunity there that you could still ameliorate. That said, will likely pass on this book for now from this undue annoyance.

Thank you for your feedback. We will consider adding background music in our future videos.

I love to read. Just don’t want it analysed.

Ugh. The announcer's voice makes it all seem so click-baity and fake; infomercial like. That's why I won't subscribe. That said, the content was mildly interesting.
