I love these videos but feel like I need to clarify on the Villa every time. Chester was our club captain and was our only good CB for ages. At the start of last season, Bruce had him as literally the only fit natural centre half in the team. He was starting Mile Jedinak next to him. Chester was excellent for Villa and the only reason he’s not still playing for us is Bruce basically forced him to play through injury at the beginning of last season and it fucked his legs. Mings is no doubt a better defender and I think he’s a good pick for this list, but the disrespect to Chester was crazy to me. Also you said with Chester in defence they never looked like being promoted when they literally were in a playoff final with him the season before we got promoted and he and Terry only allowed 1 goal.

I'm a Villa fan too but in order to enjoy watching the Irish Guy's videos you have to disconnect from your affiliation with your club and just watch as a neutral football fan because as much as I love the Irish Guy he can speak some unprecedented bullshit at times which is annoying but you just have to round with it and take it with a pinch of salt i.e. the implication that Chester wasn't a good centre-back.

James Chester was Villa's captain and by far our most reliable player in our first 2 seasons in the championship. He also captained the team that was one win from promotion. The only reason he wasn't playing alongside Mings was because he had a recurring injury which he had been forced to play through for a while, and eventually resulted in him being out for around a year. Mings was much more an upgrade on us having to play Jedinak out of position at cb, rather than James Chester.
