UPDATE: Day 10 is up and we are all done! Thanks to everyone who participated. I had a lot of fun making this, and then trying to beat each challenge every day with everyone else! After a super fast start, the video views slowed down a lot, so we didn't end up crashing the game. And the final challenges actually ended up being somewhat easier than the early challenges, as I had expected the engagement to continue vaguely linearly over the 10 days. If the video somehow picks up and goes viral in a months time, I'll add a new challenge or two just for fun :)

my favorite build so far is to get enough mace attached (8-10) and you can just reverse into them and collect all the gold as everything just explodes around you. can't wait till day 3 unlocks

The main issue with this game is how random the upgrades are. An entire run will live or die depending on whether or not you got the upgrades you needed. Usually, of the 3 choices, 2 are bad, and 1 is MAYBE helpful. OR maybe they're all good, but you can only choose 1. Or sometimes they're all bad, and you get screwed. If I'm able to upgrade even just 1 of my weapons significantly, I'll win. If not, I'll slowly be overwhelmed and lose, because even when hitting the enemies with every single attack, I'm just not doing enough damage to keep up, at no fault of my own. I almost never get to build the car the way I want. TL;DR: randomness is way more influential than it should be. I might as well just flip a coin to see if I win.

Being colourblind, the gold play button money and the standard car look the same colour, which makes it nearly impossible to tell them apart once the game really gets going. It might be worth considering switching the colour of the car to something else, perhaps a bright yellow taxi or something. Also, I’m spelling colour like that because I’m Canadian lol
@lukemuscat Жыл бұрын
Oh great call out! I'll try and make a change in the next day or two, and at least have their colour value be a tad different to help a little.

Mr. Luke's games always give me the late 2000s-early 2010s vibes with their artstyles and game mechanics. Every time I'm looking at his games and the thought processes it always just gives me a familiar feeling like "Man, this feels *super* familiar, but I *know* it's new." I guess it's just that old nostalgic feeling from old flash games that we used to play on our computers back then. It's quite refreshing, especially with how games are nowadays. I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? Good stuff! Gonna go try the game now lole, hope I don't blow up in 5 seconds

Inreally like the idea of the different patreon or comunity tears having different types of cars. Also the comments could be integrated differently, like habing the option to give the enemies weapons too, depending on some arbitrary things like amount of likes the comment gets or something, and if it has too many dislikes it becomes an ally or something. I also like the idea of the "subscribers" you collect being different collors depending on the amount. Just like the gold, silver, diamond and other plates you get from toutube. I think that would be too hard to implement tho Thia is also one of the most creative ways of getting that engagement from youtube comments
