I'm glad you found it helpful! Bare in mind that I did make this video about 2 years ago so a lot of the restaurants have moved/aren't there anymore and there's lots of new things now, but for the most part its still the same (:

@@ChelseaAddams Yes I think I'm gonna go in two weeks and do my rescue course over 7 days! I hope everything has opened back up (bars, parties, restaurants) since the pandemic :)

@@jayselshah6135 Ahh amazing, hope you have a great time!! Yes, everything was open when I was there - there was a 10pm curfew when I arrived but they got rid of it in October so I'm pretty sure there's no covid-related rules now (nothing crazy anyway!)

Glad it was helpful for you! Being vegan can be difficult in some places but with a bit of extra searching, you’ll always find something you can eat! In Utila though there’s lots of options/it’s easy to edit things on the menu! 😆 Ahh you’ll have such an amazing time! Which countries are you planning to go to?

Hey! I was able to upload videos, yes, but it was very slow! I also struggled in Mexico, I’d say it was pretty similar! How long are you travelling in Mexico and Central America for? ☺️

Hi this was super helpful!!! What bus company did you take to la cieba and how did you find it? Thank you:)
@ChelseaAddams
@ChelseaAddams 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, glad you found it helpful!! I am pretty sure the company was called Christina busses. I got the taxi to take me to the bus station and he actually showed me inside the station where the bus leaves from - if you don't speak Spanish, maybe learn a phrase in Spanish so you can ask for directions for the bus to La Ceiba! When I went in the bus station, from where the taxi dropped me, I turned left and the bus leaves from the opposite side of the station to where the taxi dropped me - its hard to explain in writing but I hope that makes some sense!

Hi, thank you for all the information. I'll be in Utila for the month of April doing 2 scuba courses at UDC. Could you please tell me if you recommend renting a bicycle or is it easier to walk around town? Also, did your dive school provide a wetsuit for you to use?
@ChelseaAddams
@ChelseaAddams 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, that is completely up to you, I didn’t have a bike but there were times it would’ve been easier. Saying that, everything is within walking distance. From paradise divers (which is right in the middle of the bay, next to the ferry port) it took about 15-20 minutes to walk to bando beach and 20-30 minutes to walk to blue bayou (can’t quite remember exactly as I didn’t walk all the way to blue bayou too many times). And yes they provided us with everything we needed for diving! 😊 Hope you have an amazing time!

Hey Chelsea - Kudos to you for your travel adventures that you share with everyone. We are looking to build a place in Utila and I wanted to know how safe you felt being a single female there? I've heard Utila is nothing like the main island of Honduras as far as safety, but it would be nice to get your opinion being a single female traveling there. We lived on an out island of the Bahamas (Eleuthera) for about 1.5 years and it was nothing like scary Nassau. We are vegan as well, so all your info on the restaurants were perfect. Thanks so much for your videos, keep up the great work when you can! Steve

Hi! Ah that’s so exciting! Hope it all goes well for you! Whilst I was in Utila I felt safe (other than when some kids lit some fireworks on the street but I think that’s a different kind of safety to what you’re asking about 😅). It’s nothing like the rest of Honduras with regards to safety. I did hear a story about a guy getting into a slightly bad situation (I think it was a fight with a local) so don’t completely let your guard down, but that’s the same as anywhere you’d go. As for me as a solo female, there was never any point in utila that I felt like someone was going to hurt me or rob me. Ahh I’m glad that helped too! There’s lots of vegan options on the island! I will say though, if you like cooking things like tofu or vegan sausages/burgers then take some with you cause they’re VERY expensive in Utila! 😅

Informative video-- but why not fly to Roatan and take the ferry to Utila?
@ChelseaAddams

You definitely can do that, it’s just a lot more expensive from most places to fly into Roatan!

Honestly, don't see much difference in Utila vs Roatan West End diving to be honest with you except that Utila is much safer for women
