That was fun Nina, I got my final YCS box about 6 weeks ago, I went through it and replaced the backing on the stamps and tried them out...then something happened. I have been so busy the last couple of months ,working a lot more than normal, a couple of trips to the ER with my mom, trees down and new fencing up that there is no telling. My long explanation to say it was like opening a box with you as I went through mine again, now I need to take sometime and play with what I have. Thanks Nina. Just lovely Nina, as always, the stags are so elegant. So you don’t lose your pin for your glitter glue, you can tie a tassel or beads to it and then it’ll be easier to find on your desk.

Lots of goodies in that box. I love this project and am so impressed with your artistic vision! Perfect for this time of the year. Regarding the pin for your glue... I've seen the beaded dangles using a stainless steel eye pin and some using a small magnet glued to the top portion of their bottle to hold the pin while using the glue. But the one I really liked was the lady who used a fabric flower threaded through her pin because I think it would be the least cumbersome and easy to locate your pin. She has a KZbin video titled "Loosing your art glitter glue pin?". Hope you and the family are enjoying the countdown to Christmas! Janet 🤗👍🎄

Lovely! Btw, I taped a cosmetic sponge onto my glitter bottle. I stick the pin in it while gluing so it doesn't get lost.

They are all beautiful pages, I do love the backing card in some of the sticky notes etc. They look lovely in your journal. Thanks Elaine, I think this is a beautiful box. It’s going to be a very quiet Christmas for us this year. Steve’s mum was supposed to come up for a few days, but because of Covid she’s decided to stay in Plymouth. Probably just as well as people around us are dropping like flies with the new variant. Going to Alex’s this evening for cheese, wine and nibbles, then he’s coming here in the morning to open presents before heading off to his partner Danny’s for Christmas lunch. @@NinaRibenaMixedMedia it all sounds lovely though and I don't blame your MIL to stay put but it's a shame you won't see her for Christmas, we are all going over to my Mum's and I will cook the turkey here then take it over to her house to have dinner there.... She is fairly housebound now and she has a nice big table for us all to sit down at... She only lives across the road so very easily done. So ours will be fairly quiet too. I went and picked Billie's boyfriend up last night so he's already here now too. I love how you combine the various pieces from the box as well as some of the packaging. As a lifelong Chicagoan and Cubs fan I was excited to see that Wrigley Field rain check, but sad when you completely covered it up with other stickers! But, hey ho, as you would say. Happy holidays, Nina! I have the glitter glue, but the ball fell off the stainless steel pin the first time I used it. I found some thin quilter's pins with hearts on top so the pin won't get lost, but now I'm worried it will turn the glue brown! 😥

As long as it’s stainless steel it will be fine, if it’s not, I would change it as it will turn your glue brown as the pin will rust. Hope that helps ❤️

Hello Miss Nina! I have a strange question. I’ve made several junk journals and suddenly think I’ve been going about it wrong. Do you bind your signatures before you create the pages or create and bind at the end? I’ve recently watched videos that suggest binding first. It was a beginner video. I’m not a beginner, but I’m not yet brilliant. I’m trying to be more efficient for the holidays. I just can’t imagine binding before creating? I feel as though I’d be taking it apart to add, stitch make windows, etc. How do you go about it? Edit: oh my word! You’ve just shown me there is a clear plastic to remove from my stamps so they stick to my stamp block. 🤦‍♀️ All this time I thought they stuck on poorly.

Hello Natalie, not a strange question at all. The two journals I am working in at the moment both have a flexible binding. The signatures in this YCS journal are held in with string allowing me to pull the pages out if I want to sew or work on them outside of the journal. My Use Your Scraps journal have a similar binding, but I have used fine elastic instead. Both methods are fabulous for me, because like you, I like working on the pages outside of the journal and also like the flexibility to move the pages around if I want to. In 2020 I created the cover for my journal and put the signatures together but didn’t bind them until the pages were all finished. I will leave the link to the video showing how I made the journal in this video and also the videos showing how I made my scrap journal with elastic as well. I hope they will give you some ideas.
