How is it merging on the highway? I asked this because I rented a 2018 which is pretty much the same vehicle and trying to merge on the freeway it kinda struggles. But in 2022 the they did some updates to the transmission the suppose to make it more responsive.

@@ivan72087 If your car was made in the last 40 years it can merge just fine. People need to quit acting like they need to break the landspeed record to get on the highway. It's not the engine that's the problem. It's user error

I had no doubts in my mind for months I wanted the cx30. But when I test drove I felt way too cluttered , and felt like visibility was limited all around. I test drove the cx5 and absolutely loved it. headroom and visibility are way better. So happy with my purchase.

In Mexico, the rear cargo floor can be flipped, it has a rubberized surface opposite to the carpet side

I was lucky enough to get a 2021 Carbon Edition with the Turbo engine. I got the best of both worlds with this trim! Super happy about that.

On my second CX-5 Signature, and didn't know about the option of pressing the exterior door button twice to unlock all doors.

Thanks for the review.I have a 2020 CX-5 grand touring premium, and I noticed that the headlight and taillight design on my premium is different than the turing or a lower trim levels. Is it the same case with the 2023 version of the car? Are there different headlights and taillights for the different trim levels?

Yes, the Grand Touring (Now Premium) and higher have the signature lighting with adaptive headlights and more LED accents.

@Jonathan Sewell thanks for the reply. I'm torn between a 2023 CX-5 Carbon or the Premium. Both are a step down from my current 2020 CX-5 Gran Touring Premium but either one will save me money on the lease. If you had to go with one of the 2, which one would it be and why?

Can you please tell me why SiriusXM isn't standard on all Mazda trims? Will there be any plans for it in the future? Did not realize I didn't have Sirius until I call trying to get it activated in my new Mazda.

Yeah, it's only included on the Premium trim levels or above. Makes no sense since the Carbon Edition comes with the Bose sound system and other Premium level features.

so i have a problem. when I lock the windows so the other passengers can't operate them why can't the driver check them too? normally all the windows from the driver's seat should be able to be controlled. there is a solution;

Apple car play functions with the touchscreen while stopped by default and there is a setting to allow while in motion.

Did you miss proximity lock. With keys in pocket, close the last door "beep", walk away "beep", doors are locked. That's one of my favorites.

Most of them do now. Earlier this year they didn’t because of chip shortages

Can the carbon edition use a normal car wash? (Is it fussy metallic paint?)

It is a special paint. After seeing what a normal car wash does to a car I've sworn them off entirely and either wash at home or use the touchless spots since home washing isn't super great from a water usage perspective. But those normal brush filled washes are one of the worst things you can put your car thru. I have a couple rock chips and touch-up paint can't quite match the factory application process with the metallic flake. It will show up at certain angles within 5 feet. It's certainly a paint you want to wax or ceramic coat regularly, and if you plan on owning it 10+ years and you care about your vehicle ppf isn't unreasonable. Regardless of what your friends and loved ones might say...

I have a polymetal gray 3 with the black leatherette interior and it is nice and clean for sure. But after I bought some custom cover pieces for the interior gloss black I've been wishing that the red leather interior was available on my trim. A bright red might be a bit obnoxious but that darker red is classy.
